Week 2

[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.

Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

[After the three rounds of dodgeball yesterday, Jamie was thrilled to announce the winners: Team A! Which unfortunately means Team B gets the less than ideal task of cleaning the showers for the next few days.

Wednesday afternoon, a bit after lunch, the tables in the cafeteria are set-up for the promised ice cream party. One table has a selection of ice cream flavors (some of them are even non-dairy if you're so inclined), another has bowls and spoons and another has bowls of toppings with a few canisters of whipped cream. It all looks very nice and very tasty.

As for Team B they'll be getting a flashing "THIS IS A REMINDER TO CLEAN THE SHOWERS." notification on their PIPs until the deed is done. (There's also nothing stopping them from sneaking into the ice cream party and getting their sundae on once their chore is done. Just sayin.)]

[ Seth will only be out in the open willingly for the ice cream party, and even then he'll get his ice cream and avoid people in the corner so that no one bothers him about his burns. Mm, chocolate ice cream. ]

[Bolton was on the winning team so he is here for ice cream!!

Non-dairy ice cream, apparently, and oh, what is he...

He pulls two shots of espresso and pours it over the ice cream in his bowl, before stiffly walking over to a table and having a seat.]

[Sadie's been secretive about her eating the entire time here- but fuck you guys, she earned this bar by being slightly less apathetic than usual. ...which for her, means she's squirting whipped cream directly in her own mouth.]

[The morning on Wednesday has a few other surprises in store for some unlucky Champions.

Seth Twiright will notice, come Wednesday morning, that all of his clothes have been replaced with a gorilla suit.

All Champions will notice that there's a Ring Toss game set up at the end of the hallway that leads to the cafeteria doors. But McBurn will be stopped by Bolton, handed a stack of fifty rings, and gleefully coached through a game of Ring Toss before he'll be allowed to go get his nosh on in the cafeteria. Every. Time. How does Bolton know when to be there? How does he get there so fast? We just don't know.

And last...but certainly not least. Bolton has so many surprises for Byakuya Togami that he has to wheel them into the cafeteria on a cart. There's a large cone of shame, painted black and decorated with the Togami family crest, and a stylish baby carrier, along with a naked baby doll wearing a black diaper (also decorated with the Togami family crest).

Bolton is going to enjoy the hell out of this.]

[Togami doesn't seem that bothered? At least in public. He refuses to give the jerks the satisfaction of seeing him bothered. It doesn't mean he's going to be proud of wearing a cone of shame. Is that a baby carrier with a doll? Do they expect him to play mother to a doll, too?

And he doesn't understand why he's being targeted, either, hah]

[Well, hopefully Bolton was prepared for a rather annoyed McBurn since he just got that lovely gift from the benefactors and being annoyed is easier than being embarrassed.

In fact, he doesn't even seem to be interested in taking a pot shot at Bolton at the moment and will try to just walk on past to go to the teleporter.]

[ Seth gives zero fucks that he was given a gorilla suit. In fact, he's not wearing any of his clothing, just his bedsheet carefully wrapped around him instead. ...Buuut it can't cover everything, so now everyone gets to see the horrific burns across most of his body. It's a miracle they don't reach his hands or far up his neck.

In the morning, he eats breakfast at the diner. He's hoping to avoid people and order bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy with chocolate milk. He's grabbed a book from the library to read, something fiction for once. So he's taking his sweet time.

When not eating, he's attempting to hide in a corner of the library. He's trying to avoid everyone for some reason. It's kind of weird. Normally, he doesn't seem to mind.

He returns to the diner for lunch and dinner, both eating burgers and fries with a chocolate shake like usual. Otherwise, he can be found in the shower for men during the normal hot lunch times attempting to avoid people still. ]

[Eh, you know, a loss is a loss. Jane was having more fun with the dodgeball stuff than she was serious about winning, so in the morning, after breakfast and after she's taken stock of all the weird and wonderful things that turned up in her dumbwaiter today, she does her part of cleaning in the women's showers, scrubbing very thoroughly. It's not like she's singing while she does it - it's something mindless to get her thoughts away from the murder and the trial, and to clear her head in preparation of other things. If you're cleaning in here too, or just coming through for a shower and want to try to goad one of the losers of yesterday's game, here's your chance.

The afternoon is all about diner investigation - how does the food come into the diner, can you see where it comes from if you look close and fast enough, that sort of stuff. She's ordering a lot of various drinks to start with, sipping them as she takes a look at anything else that could be seen as unusual about this place.

She's still in the diner around dinner time, if you've happened to come up there for your evening meal. Jane has finally ordered solid food - not nearly ALL of the bacon and eggs to be had, but a respectable amount - and she seems unusually chipper, happy to welcome anyone who might be coming in to sit with her and not minding if they refuse. She's even humming to the jukebox selection as she casually nibbles at breakfast foods, though, why wouldn't you want to have a chat with someone so content?

...Although...that song playing is a lot longer than you remember. And it has a dip in the middle. Or...wait, is it playing again?!

[About the time Jane is is eating, Xander comes in, nodding to her and coming over as soon as he sees her- placing a small bowl from the ice cream bar down on the table.]

I didn't know what flavors you liked, so there's a a few different ones.

[The little rocket ships on tracks that bring the food out from holes in the walls just big enough for the rockets to fit through. The tunnels behind the holes are, however, pitch black and as for the rest of the diner there doesn't seem to be any doors for the house elves as it were.]

[Lightning will join Jane as soon as she has four different slices of pie and what looks like a light brown milkshake. Mmmmm peanut butter. Too bad Bolton hates peanuts.]

I was wondering where the bacon went.

[And then she notices the song is on repeat.

Now she wants to kill the jukebox.]

Now that looks like a fantastic idea.

[This place is suspicious in how nice it is, compared to the rest of the station, but after a week of cafeteria food the Doctor's not going to question it too much. He slides into a free booth and presses a button for a plate of sausages and gravy, carefully watching the rocket bringing it out.]

See, here the chrome almost works. The rest of this place is trying too hard.

[Margulis doesn't seem to care about his hard won ice cream. Instead, he spends breakfast in a corner of the cafeteria, once again unusually quiet. Of course, anyone who cares to look over at him will see that his embarrassment from yesterday is back tenfold. Not only is his face bright red, but he's finally caught up to the fashion trend and put on a bedsheet toga over his unitard.

Once he's done eating, he seemingly disappears. In reality, though, he's gathered up a bunch of books in the library and locked himself in one of the study rooms not in use by Bolton. Of course, those only stay locked for so long, and with as much reading material as he's brought...he might not notice when it opens.]

[Yurika wanders into the study room and flops into one of the chairs with a sigh.]

First yesterday and now... Oh! Someone was here?

[After all his exhaustion and pain the start of the week, then the chaos of Tuesday, Xander is finally back to something resembling normalcy. And with normalcy comes getting back to a routine. The week before he did what he could in his room every morning, but now he has a whole space to use.

So early in the morning, right after the wake up call, one might find him in the gym- his jumpsuit stripped down to the waist and using the equipment. There's still healing bruises visible from his various fights on Sunday and Monday, and the top of a twisting puckered still-pink scar dipping beyond sight. He uses the pullup bar for the most part, but also using the mats to give him some elevation for his feet while he does push ups, and a few laps. Once the hard work is done he can be seen looking at the sporting equipment, occasionally swinging something and frowning. Including a badminton racket.

After a quick shower (waiting until anyone cleaning it is done) and breakfast he takes a peek at the ice cream bar.]

I had no idea there were so many flavors of cream... what is this green one here? Certainly it can't be a vegetable?

[He spends the rest of the afternoon checking up on people, eventually retiring to the art room for the evening. There he sets to work trying to paint, inspired by Seth's work earlier in the week. Not people (he doesn't have the skill) but if anyone peeks in after he's well underway it looks like a landscape. The painting itself is nothing amazing- following-along-with-Bob-Ross levels. Nothing that would be in a museum, but maybe something you would be willing to buy at a garage sale for the den. I mean, if not for the scary imagery. Though Xander doesn't seem to thinking of it as creepy. He looks very content with what he's doing, maybe occasionally humming to himself]

[It might not be his office hours but Xander is getting a special visitor while he works on his painting. Jamie doesn't make a big entrance when he comes in but this might be the first time he's worn clothes (this time some nice jeans, a light blue button-down shirt and a black cardigan) that aren't splattered with paint. He doesn't really creep up on Xander but he does come around behind him and stand off to his side to check out his painting.]

That's pretty not bad, Your Highness.

[Lightning didn't sleep much during the night. Too restless. So since they received new items, she hangs a terrifying clown picture up where she figures McBurn's portrait used to sit. No need to hang it in her own since she doesn't want to give Seth any ideas. She'll leave before anyone knows it was her who did it at least. But people can find her in the kitchen instead, making the two packets of gelatin given to her by their "benefactors". One is red and the other is an awful green.]

Shapes, huh? Wonder if there's cookie cutters here.

[After putting the gelatin in the fridge to rest, she'll be in the gym, seemingly doing some calisthenic exercise. You can join her if you'd like or just watch. (Unless you're Natsuhi. Hell yeah she'll make you work out if you're Natsuhi.) She'll also be up for combat training if asked.

Later that night she'll be in the game room, working on making a character for a game of D&D. Even if a game never happens, at least she'll have followed through on part of Chitanda's original plan.]

[ Though she's not particularly psyched to do the work, she's used to daily chores that are even more unsavory; in honesty, she's felt guilty and directionless without a routine. So Thomasin ties her sheet coif on with extra gusto, ties her skirts up so she can be sure kneeling won't dirty her clothes (the space suit can get as filthy as anything, it deserves it) and shows up to the showers on the dot. She falls to her task with a single-minded intensity, scrubbing hard and humming under her breath to pass the time. Once she's very sure they're all done, she showers herself, and only then does she put on her new duds to go to the cafeteria! She's pleased with them, despite the pants, and goes about the rest of her daily doings like a business-casual nun.

Early afternoon finds her in the library, sitting at a table with that same sketchbook from Monday's meeting and writing?? something in it. Maybe she arranged to meet with your character beforehand! Or it's a random encounter, either way.

And, of course, you can find her in the art room later on, still making Mormon underwear. She needs to finish Xander's pants, okay? ]

[Angelica doesn't mind cleaning duty. The first time she sees the notification on her PIP, she ties her impressively long hair into a braid, puts on her standard issue jumpsuit, and heads right to the showers. She attacks the chore given to her with the same single-minded ferocity she had the dodgeball game, eyes focused solely on the task at hand as she scrubs away.

After she's finished, she can be found in the library, back to her usual hairstyle and new clothing. In contrast to the week before, however, she isn't ceaselessly pouring over the non-fiction section or taking notes; instead, she can be found wandering aimlessly from shelf-to-shelf, as if she isn't sure what to do with herself.]

[After dealing with Bolton and that inane sabotage that made him tempted to shove a ring up Bolton's ass just for some satisfaction, McBurn will be in the cafeteria for a bit. If anyone looks at him, he's very much looking annoyed and as he eats breakfast he's also playing around with a fireball in his left hand.

After his meal he'll head up to the second floor and go to the gym. If anyone is up for a sparring match, he'd welcome it. If not, he'll be taking out some frustrations by making use of the punching bag and a lot of fire on it. He'll actually also strip to the waist because his unitard is actually starting to get charred a bit from his uses of fire all the time. Anyone looking at him will notice he's quite muscular, but oddly has no scars, bruises or anything that gives evidence of previous battles, how peculiar.

For lunch he'll go over to the diner instead, just to avoid Bolton. Of course he's also been avoiding shower duty so eventually his PIP will start trying to annoy the hell out of him by reminding him.

Eventually around dinner time he'll get annoyed enough to go satisfy the dumb thing, though he'll do a pretty poor job attempting to clean the men's showers. After that, he's not going to bother with dinner, he'll instead see if he can find someone to smuggle some food out of the cafeteria for him.]
