week 2
[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.
Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]
Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.
[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]
[ooc: welcome to week 2, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

That sounds nice, though. I mean, if you're always around friends, you always have people you can rely on.
no subject
Yeah... I mean. I wish we got to see other people a bit more but I wouldn't trade 'em for anything.

[Jane you have no idea.]
no subject
[Oh right. Jane doesn't know yet.]

[JANE............]

[Because fuck zombies.]

[High criteria, hm.]
Well, your club is made of those friends of yours, right? So you all must be close. And to get to interact in person so much...that's got to be really nice. All of my friends are limited to the internet.

[She takes a breath.]
She made it up so we could keep our wits after the zombies came since we were stuck in the school.

[And then, after it...]
...The...the what?

[She's just. Going to sit down on the floor of the shower and pat the floor gently for Kurumi to sit with her.]
I think...you're going to have to try explaining it to me from the start. I-I believe you, but...um...that sort of thing demands context.

I can't really give you much other than I experienced. It was probably a terrorist attack or something but it was just a normal day. We all went to school. I had practice with the track team after school. There were news reports of riots but no one thought anything of it other than it being weird. In the middle of practice, though...
[Yeah. It.]
Things got crazy and I just ran to the roof to get away. Two other students were up there and a teacher, too. It happened so fast.
no subject
How long ago did it happen, for you?
no subject
no subject
...I'm sorry. None of that should have happened, it...it can't be easy.
[What do you even say? Sorry the zombie apocalypse happened to your homeworld?]
You and your friends...you've been keeping yourself safe in the school all this time?
no subject
[Except the people who made it but she couldn't find them.]
We were, yeah. We found Miki on a trip outside the school but.. Well. We had to leave it about a week or so before I woke up here. Now it's just the four of us.
[Wait. Shouldn't that be five?]
no subject
Four? But...you, Miki, the two girls on the roof, the teacher...that's five, isn't it?
Gakkou Gurashi spoilers ahoy
[Kurumi slouches down against the wall, eyes drifting closed. She hadn't mentioned the teacher before to anyone here. She slipped.]
A few months before we met Miki, she got bit.
As if I didn't spoil my darn self already :B
I'm sorry.
[Shit. Damn. Damn shit. Part of Jane is...a little relieved that this isn't her own life, but...the other part can't help but feel a bit hurt on the inside. Kurumi was a nice girl, a loyal person. She shouldn't have such a world to go back to, no one should. But it must be difficult for her to be here, Jane thinks, with holes in everyone's memories and no way of knowing if her friends are safe.]
It's more that I know a certain person is probably stalking this and isn't spoiled
Yeah. It's... It's okay. Things like it happen.
[Some part of her is envious that others live in a relatively zombie-free world. That the club, a group of normal teenagers, had to suffer like that for almost no reason at all. She shakes her head again and stretches.]
Life's full of goodbyes and hellos, I guess.
[She definitely sounds sad, though. Megumi Sakura was a good person. She didn't deserve that.]
oh gosh okay :P
Jane reaches out to put a gentle hand on Kurumi's shoulder. The non-injured one, miraculously.] That doesn't mean we have to like it.
no subject
She pats Jane's arm.] No, we definitely don't.
no subject
You know...you know what I think would be a great idea? If we could all get out of here somehow, and just...if people's homes aren't safe, we could...I don't know...relocate them and their friends. I think that wouldn't be out of the question.
[Can we end the teenage suffering? Can we please?]
