Week 4
[After everything that this case was, you probably don't want to deal with anything else. But you wake up on Sunday, just like before, with some new memories, and some new stores to check out.
Let's see what this week brings.]
Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
(( Don't forget to check in, and check your memory regains! You can also stop by the gacha machine and Xander's office hours. ))

'I don't. Not friendship as you know it, like...all of this. I am a savior first, a king second, and there is no third option for me. There never was.']
[It was funny, then, that friendship should be what he remembered. Being challenged to a game by their Overseer, telling those stupid jokes one night, and then-...and then it was just gone. Because Ardyn knew most of all that the other side of friendship was betrayal, and that week had ended in more of the same.]
['What was worth selling out this entire room?']
[Queenie, exhausted and collapsing against him. A face in the mirror after the fact, pale as a corpse and colored by the blackened marks of a plague's fury. And Ardyn, at the end of the first week in two thousand years he'd truly been happy, realizing he was exactly the monster he wished to destroy.]
['I'm the Crystal's chosen, nothing can stop me.']
[He wandered the mall in an idle daze Sunday afternoon, sorting through the weight of his memories added to that of the previous day's events. He did linger in Fourt's for a moment or two; breakfast might at least help matters.]
[The early evening and a brief visit to Flavortown saw his wandering end in Starbucks, where he'd taken up a corner with a pile of junk free to a good home.]
[Most notably was Ardyn himself wearing this unholy getup, hat perched on his head and a tremendous wing-shaped accessory on his arm. Perhaps second most notably was the strong scent of cinnamon coming from the partially empty bottle of 'Gralean Firagaball' whiskey in front of him and the glass in his hand.]
Starbucks
....... you almost match the pigeons in that getup.
[Don't mind if she joins you with a cup of coffee, placing one that is so inky black that it could match a starless sky in front of Ardyn with plenty of room to add other things like cream, sugar, or cinnamon booze.]
no subject
[Still regrettably sober enough not to laugh that off, Ardyn tilted the hat back with a shaken and exhausted smile.]
...Do you think they ended up alright?
no subject
[It's so confusing, and she doesn't know how to deal with it.]
If Nishitani were here, he'd probably be laughing at me, telling me not to worry.
no subject
[Ardyn sighed, casually pouring at least one shot of whiskey into the cup of coffee.]
...Still, I'm worried all the same. I always did like birds, personally.
no subject
[Good. Make that coffee more effective.]
I like birds, but pigeons are a menace back home... I would rather have chocobo around, personally.

Listen, the outfit he's (apparently) used to. But the hat? But that...arm shield...wing thing? He can't. He can't let that go uncommented upon. He just can't!]

[HOW MANY LAYERS DOES THAT MAKE?
In the meantime, while you have your glass, she's just going to grab the bottle and smell it. Mmmmm. That's strong stuff. She makes a face, but ]

It's not a bad look-- doesn't it get hot though?
[Don't mind her, she's just going to join him for a drink. Don't worry, she's not taking much. She'll give it back soon.]
no subject
[ahem]
...well, I'll probably at least lose the coat a bit later.

[She couldn't care less, promise.]

He lets out a light sigh before he fills up a large cup of water and sets it by Ardyn, then gets to making some tea. ]
Did I ever tell you how stupid that wing thing is?
no subject
There was a time or two I pretended not to notice Ravus behind me and hit him with it. 'Oh, High Commander, forgive me, you really should announce yourself just a bit louder.'
no subject
Wow. No wonder he was so pissed off all the time.
no subject
[A shrug.]
So, to what do I owe the pleasure today?
no subject
First, I'm cutting you off. Drink your water, Ardyn.

...I'm not sure... I can ever thank you enough for being there for me like you were last time.
no subject
[he tilted his hat back enough to get a clearer view of Clarith, looking exhausted himself.]
no subject
[ She almost wants to say a father figure instead, but... She doesn't. That might be too much, right now. ]
...But you gave it to me when I needed it. That is... Something I'll forever be grateful for. And I can't thank you enough for it.
no subject
[Ardyn shook his head slightly, sighing.]
I...don't know. I'm tired, Clarith--if you're insistent upon gratitude, I'll not argue about it.
