Friday morning after CECE awakens everyone with her usual cheery announcement over their PIPs it's dead quiet, the oppressive threat to their homes still lingering in the air. There's still hours to go before the deadline but will someone really have the guts to go through with it in such small quarters?

Someone was crass enough to kill this man and stick him in this room last night. ['Someone' implies 'not me', for the record.] Does anyone know who was here last?

And there was a...sound, something broke when he landed. I'd be careful of something sharp. [Gestures to himself.] I hope this doesn't make me evidence.

[And speaking of blood, let's take a look over the general splatter of it all. It's enough to get a good coat on Shadow, does it also look like about the amount you'd expect from a gaping stomach wound?]

[She doesn't sound that really sorry to be asking actually. She sounds very calculating and analytical about it; as if she's shoved her initial emotions back into a box for the investigation proper.]

Looks to be the case, yeah. Looks like whoever did this did it here. Unless we're looking at two victims.

Oh no. I was referring to the blood on him, actually. He said he wasn't injured so I assumed it must have been from the body-- but that was before the body had fallen.

I don't know where else it would've come from. [Okay, that was a little more ornery than anything else he's said this morning.] It was already floating in the room. Without a DNA test to be absolutely, we can only make assumptions, but I feel it's a safe one.

That's not my problem with the blood. The real question would be how it got there. If it was simply from the lack of gravity or something less pleasant.

[There's a few pairs in the first aid kit, at least. After handing them over its time to look over the ex-McCree, carefully turning him to get a look at him. So.

Anything about the wound stand out?]

[No other wounds, but it looks like his prosthetic hand is clenched around something.]

But also pretty straightforward, tearing straight through the champion jumpsuit and the body.]

[Hmm. That does beg another question, though.

Bracing himself so he doesn't collapse from the minor pain of his own Gaping Wound, Fin slowly gets down on his knees, puts his hands under the body and starts to roll it. Not all the way. Just enough to check.

Is there a hole in the back of him?]

[Yep, that sure is a corpse. Margulis is just going to step into the room to look the body over.]

Don't touch the body. [Not that Shadow ever looks happy--he's not bad, he's just character modeled that way--but he particularly looks unhappy. And a little matted.] Mind you don't step in the blood, either.

I wasn't intending to. It's going to be difficult enough to identify the murder weapon without moving the body further.

[At least, he's assuming from the blood spatter that it was floating.]

Hmm...easy enough to reach if we turn off the gravity, but doing so would alter the scene further. We can check when we're finished down here.
