Welcome to the Program
Good Morning, Champions. In the interest of maintaining healthy sleep patterns, a day/night cycle is in effect. Your presence is expected in the cafeteria in exactly one hour.
[The voice comes through not a large speaker, but through the device that's attached to each Champion's arm. Further investigation of the features of the device will reveal a list of profiles, a mini-map, and a list of rules. The hallways are shiny white and silver, with running lights along the floor and lights on the ceiling, and at the junction of the hallways is a sign with a knife and fork icon and an arrow pointing down the hall.
Welcome to the Excellence Program, Champions. Time to get to know your teammates.]

KansasMegurigaoka school anymore - everything's so... bright, and clean looking. Almost clinical. And most notably - she's entirely alone in this strange room. and that's enough to send her scrabbling upright in a panic.]S-Senpai? Hello? [... Her attention is immediately drawn to the device on her arm, and after a couple of moments examining the profiles (people, she's not... the only person here) and then the rules, with a dawning sense of horror, and not a few moments later she's scrambling out of her room, desperate to find someone confirm this isn't real. It just can't be.]
Is anyone here? Hello?
[Later, she can be found in the kitchen. Notably, she seems delighted with the array of food that's available. It's all freeze dried, or boxed for long term use, but there's just so much of it. There are packets, and cardboard boxes sprawled out in front of her and she appears to be taking note of how many types there are and how much stock they have all together. Old habits die hard, apparently.
And finally, Miki will be found in the library after her trek around the station. Books, she knows. Books are familiar and there are even a few titles she recognises. It doesn't take long for her to curl up in a corner of the room with a book - nose deep and determined to give herself just a little time to... be normal. To not be trapped here, in this place - somewhere that she really doesn't think is any better than how things were back home.]
Hallway
[Oh hey Miki, there's a woman with blue hair just sort of awkwardly making her way down the hallway. She stops when your door opens, though, and...greets you. With a little wave. Clearly kind of dazed and confused herself.]
You...don't know where this is either?
no subject
But. The relief is just... overwhelming. Not to be facing this without someone there as well. Maybe it's a horrible thing to think but... ...]
No, I've never seen anything like this place before.
[She pauses, glancing around the hallways - again, so white and clear. Where are they?]
I was hoping someone else would be able to tell me.
no subject
I wish I could tell you, myself, but...I don't know, either. I've never even imagined a place like this before...

grabs a random book and hauls it all the way across the room??? ]

Her hands tighten around the book she's holding, and that fight or flight instinct kicks in like no one's business and... well.
Duck, Yuri. There's a teenaged girl swinging a book at your head.]

Hallway
[Penny is a lot less certain than usual, having woken up without her weapons. And having woken up, period.]
Um. I think there's lots of people here, but I don't really know who any of them are. Or where 'here' is, sorry.
no subject
[This feels rather formal, suddenly??]
So we've all just... arrived here? Out of nowhere?
no subject
[Penny.]

I've been better.

Just a lonely senpai looking for a home and whatever the other thing besides senpai is, like you know, the step down instead of up on the school chain? That's me.
[ Joking tone aside, Roxy frowns. ]

Kitchen
He approaches where Miki has set herself up with lots of different types of boxed food while Karamatsu looks on with a hand resting beneath his chin.]
So this is what astronaut food looks like...
no subject
Miki freezes, then takes a whirling step backwards, knocking one of the big MRE boxes off the table and onto the floor in the process.
Boy, this sure got awkward quickly.]
I--ah. [Shoot. She should pick that up. Hold up, she's ducking down to heft the box back up on the table again.]
I guess so? I think some of this might be army style rations, or something close to it though.
no subject
[HE WASN'T TRYING TO SNEAK UP ON HER...he was just more curious about the food than anything.]
I see, well...it certainly seems to be well stocked in here.
[Karamatsu clears his throat, reaching up to brush his bangs out of his eyes.]
Do you think this is...all the food we will have, though? Nothing but packages and powders?

Kitchen
[Hello yes, that is indeed a Zombie that just wandered in the kitchen. Please don't try and stab her with any knives, that'd be very inconvenient.]
no subject
...? She's not entirely sure what she's seeing. But the stitching is a stand out and the dull tone of the half of this person's skin is familiar enough that she instinctively freezes, and moves slowly and carefully to put the counter between herself and... whatever just entered the room.]
no subject
[She read the profiles like a few minutes ago, what were they again...? Zombina snaps her fingers on one hand as she remembers.]

his second thought: why are there so many young girls and why is he on the same ward as them
his third thought, and the one he acts on: she knows what she's doing, as she's already both inventorying and smiling. He's more careful not to startle her than he was with the young people in the hallways, making a sound announcing himself before opening a cabinet next to hers.]
You're Miki, aren't you? It looks like we had the same priorities.
no subject
Oh, taking inventory?
[She looks back down at the packets littering the counter.]
Yeah, I thought it was probably a good idea. At least we know we won't go hungry while we're here.

Hey. Are you...taking inventory? [ What a diligent thing for a kid to do? Overachiever. ...Makes her think she should be doing more but hey, this is Chloe Price, she lives to disappoint. ]
no subject
Hm? [Well, she's. Holding actual packets of food so. Yeah.]
Yeah, it... [was just automatic for her? She started doing it before she ever realised she was doing it?] was something to do. And at least we'll have an idea of what there actually is to eat here.
