[The voice comes through not a large speaker, but through the device that's attached to each Champion's arm. Further investigation of the features of the device will reveal a list of profiles, a mini-map, and a list of rules. The hallways are shiny white and silver, with running lights along the floor and lights on the ceiling, and at the junction of the hallways is a sign with a knife and fork icon and an arrow pointing down the hall.

[Karamatsu breathes out a sigh, allowing himself to relax somewhat.]

So long as it does not catch on fire...that is the last thing we need right now.

It shouldn't.

[But just in case... she's going to get a large cup of water. As a plan B.]

But if it does we'll be ready.

[It's a good thing you're the acting adult here, Miki, because Karamatsu hadn't even thought about that.]

At the very least, I would hope they would not provide us with things that could easily set this place on fire...I assume that may be in part why we only have food like this on hand.

[stillstands]

[Someone's gotta be mature and responsible and not throw random French into sentences.]

You could heat on the stove top as well, if you wanted. So I guess there's a fire hazard there, but... no more so than usual.

[karappo]

I guess you could say this is a lot more practical in that regard...the regard of not setting a fire, I mean.

[Yaknow, assuming that smoke down there doesn't turn into More.]

[stillstands]

[At least with them eyeballing it, it won't get to be on fire for very long?]

Oh, right. I haven't introduced myself. It's nice to meet you, I'm Miki Naoki.

[VERY TRUE. They have water handy for putting out any wayward flames and everything.]

Heh, that is alright. We have been a bit distracted, here. But it is a pleasure all the same, Miki-chan.

[stillstands]

[Responsible, uh. Teen and ??adult.]

A bit, yeah. [She chuckles.] I think we can be forgiven though.

[The box is still kinda hardcore smoking. Miki pokes it a little cautiously.]

If this is how eventful our meal times will be here, it should be interesting.

[karappo]

[What did they put in there again? Applesauce? Does that even need cooking...]

The question is going to be how it will taste.

[stillstands]

[No one ever said they were good at this. At least they won't get food poisoning?]

... [Hm.] I wouldn't expect anything gourmet.

[karappo]

So...edible, at best?

[God this is going to be a long time.]

[stillstands]

Edible and fuelling.

[Food is food, Karamatsu.]

We're not going to starve, at least

[He'll just have to learn that the hard way, he guesses...]

That would certainly defeat the purpose of bringing us all here, if the rules are anything to be believed.

Can't have rule seven if everyone's starved, no.

[Oh, it's probably been about ten minutes now. Miki's just going to drag the not so powerfully smoking box over.]

... I guess we just open it?

[karappo]

[Karamatsu nods, sitting up a little on his knees. He has that water ready just in case.]

[stillstands]

[Look at these nerds. Okay, Miki carefully and slowly opens the box and pulls the package from the box. It's a little warm?! But, okay.]

It... looks okay?

[Hang on, she's going to get a pair of scissors and open up the packet...]

[karappo]

It does not smell too bad either...

[Hopefully if this test went well that means the rest of the time they have to do this won't be as much of an event as this was. Maybe.]

[stillstands]

[It's a tense moment as she pours the contents of the packet into a bowl with a very appetising splatter. Yum.

Well okay, time to take a spoon and try some.

It just tastes like semi-warm applesauce.

[It isn't even fully heated through??]

[karappo]

Ehh? Let me try-

[Karamatsu quickly finds a spoon of his own so he can give it a try.]

...did we not do something right? I figure it would have made this incredibly hot given all that smoking it was doing!

[stillstands]

No, we... definitely had it in the box long enough. I wonder if something messed up when we added the water before the actual food packet.

[She's still eating it but?? It is a disappointing experience.]

[karappo]

[This is very disappointing apple sauce. But it could be a lot worse. And a lot more gross.]

Ah, perhaps...that might not have allowed it to get hot enough. Should we try something else?

[stillstands]

It might be easier just to heat it in a pan on the stove. It's novel, but if it's not going to actually cook the food properly...

[Not as fun, but hot food is more important.]

Mm...you are probably right. This sort of scenario must really be intended for emergency situations only.

[stillstands]

At least if we lose power, we can have uh... semi-heated food with these.

It might be better to conserve as many of them as we can, just in case.
