Good Morning, Champions. In the interest of maintaining healthy sleep patterns, a day/night cycle is in effect. Your presence is expected in the cafeteria in exactly one hour.

[The voice comes through not a large speaker, but through the device that's attached to each Champion's arm. Further investigation of the features of the device will reveal a list of profiles, a mini-map, and a list of rules. The hallways are shiny white and silver, with running lights along the floor and lights on the ceiling, and at the junction of the hallways is a sign with a knife and fork icon and an arrow pointing down the hall.

Yeah, I didn’t wanna mess with it too much. Who knows what’d happen? I mean, if it were just so we’d have the info, they could’ve given us a smartphone or something. It probably does other stuff.

Yes. Monitoring, maybe...? It wouldn't need to be permanently on us otherwise...

Yeah, could be. Like those tracker anklets. Not that there's a lot of places to go... I guess maybe our vitals, too?

Why would they need to monitor our vitals...?

yup. She sure is looking up those rules again and that infamous rule 7...]

That’s not...totally what I was thinking. But, uh. It...sure is there.

... If you wanted to know if someone had died, then their vitals suddenly going flat would be an obvious indicator.

Yeah. I mean, they got the cameras too, but I guess maybe those can’t see everywhere? And they could just have alarms for the vitals instead of watching us all the time.

There are places with security cameras. Like shops, or businesses. Maybe this place was something like that and was repurposed...?

Maybe. The rooms do seem set up like dorms, though. Do they have security cameras at colleges...?

I'm still at high-school, so I don't know about other kinds of campuses. But I think the high school may have had cameras...?

Dunno. I think most dorms have showers on the end like that, and kitchens...noooot sure what would’ve been in the other rooms. Or where the school part would be.

They don't have cameras in the showers do they??

[Annnnd there she goes. She is going to have a good look around those showers because DECENCY AND PRIVACY and all that.

When she comes back, she looks a little more relaxed but maaaaaybe not 100%]

I couldn't see any, at least.

[Max lingers around, though he's tapping a foot nervously by the time she comes back out.]

Uh, that's good. As far as this goes. I mean, it's the least they could do.

[Nothing happened to her in the bathroom, it's all good.]

I wouldn't put it past them, at all. But that's one relief, we don't have to worry about them peering on us while we shower.
