Week 4

Week 4

[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday

(( Welcome to Week 4! Don't forget to check in and submit your memory regains! Turn in your benefactor threads for sweet loot, too! ))

According to him, they get along spectacularly well.

Eeeeeeesh. [Max grimaces.] Good thing the real one isn’t here, we don’t need that shit on top of everything else.

While I'd like to reiterate that it's just a story that Yuugi and his friends have taken a little too far, despite some strangeness about it, I agree--haunted ancient objects have no place here.

I'm supposedly a reincarnated Egyptian as well. If you believe in that sort of thing.
theundertaken: (vanishing)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-09 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Aren’t we all just reincarnated ancient Egyptians?

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-09 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a rock full of hieroglyphics and everything depicting ancient me and ancient him battling with ancient card monsters. Now not all of it is inaccurate nonsense, they did mention the God Cards that came into play during one of my tournaments, but...

[But how is he really supposed to reconcile, the visions he's seen with what he's sure is true? Being able to read Ra's text when he shouldn't have, Ishizu's fortune telling, the Rod allowing him to see past it, everything about the Other Yuugi...]

I deal in the present, and more importantly, the future. I don't have time to go digging around in the sand like an archaeologist.

....uh, okay, I was joking and all, but it actually does sound like you're a reincarnated ancient Egyptian, maybe? I get not worrying about past lives too, but if there's more prophecy shit in there, you should probably pay attention to that part.
playthedamncard: (bitch please)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
...Are you serious?
theundertaken: (departed)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I've met like twenty magic people since I got interdimensionally kidnapped into space? I'm serious about literally everything now.

I don't come from a place with magic. Or at least more than the passing instance of something that may not be immediately understood by science. [champion~ of~ denial~]

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
You, uh, just said that ancient hieroglyphics predicted something that happened to you, though.
playthedamncard: (bitch please)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
The game itself has its basis in ancient Egypt; the man who makes the cards and created the game admitted that much. He'd taken a trip there [and got a gold orb shoved in his eyesocket and saw visions of his dead wife] and became inspired by the monster designs.

And just because the pharaoh depicted in stone had an elaborate hairstyle does not mean that Yuugi is the vessel of the dead spirit of a pharaoh that plays card games exceptionally well because he may or may not have played it for real three thousand years ago.

[Things that sound like a weird cartoon plot: that.]

Iiiiiiif you say so.

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you prefer I buy into every single fantastical story I get told? Perhaps magic exists in my world; perhaps it does not. So long as it doesn't mess with me, I couldn't care less. But I'm not interested in playing the part of some ancient high priest with a stabbing rod destined to be eternal rivals with a man through eternity.
theundertaken: (buried)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
........a stabbing rod?
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Did I stutter? A rod with a knife in it.
theundertaken: (departed)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Stabbing rods aren’t a thing, Kaiba. I was trying to figure out if you meant like, a weird spear, or just a sharp stick.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
A rod that you stab with. A secret knife stashed inside, like a sword cane. Someone extremely unstable was handling it for a time, and I'm shocked more people didn't get stabbed for it.
theundertaken: (deceased)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That isn’t anywhere near as good as a sword cane. Might as well just keep a switchblade in your pocket.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
They didn't have switchblades in ancient Egypt. But I also really don't want to know why a supposedly magical item had to have a knife in it.
theundertaken: (out of misery)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably a magic knife.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Why are you like this?
theundertaken: (checked out)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Max just bursts into laughter.]

C’mon! You can totally have a magic knife!
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
And here I was thinking of ritual sacrifices. Maybe it's a magical blood knife.
theundertaken: (extinct)

[personal profile] theundertaken 2017-11-10 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That is way better than anything I said.
playthedamncard: (Default)

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-11-10 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
So then let me put it this way: I don't want to know what my supposed high priest in the Egyptian court past life was doing with a magical rod with a magical blood knife in it.
