[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

[Early Thursday morning -maybe early enough that it's technically late Wednesday, she's not keeping track of the time- Penny is pacing anxiously in Room 9. Every so often she stops, like she's decided to do something, before changing her mind and resuming her pacing a second later. Eventually, she abruptly rounds on her heel and faces the camera in her room.]

CECE? I need help!

[Almost the entire rest of the day, Penny can be found in the library, pouring over a massive stack of nonfiction books, with a general medical theme, but a few about traveling into deep space at sublight speeds, or setting up colony ships. And one wilderness survival guide? Regardless, she's incredibly intent on all of them.]

[Later still, she's at the pool, staring at its frozen surface, Miki's shovel held tightly in her hands. After a moment, she seems to gather her courage for something and steps forward to the pool's edge, holding the shovel vertically and bringing the blade down sharply onto the ice. And then keeps going, repeatedly striking one spot.]

Good morning, Champion Dodecaswordsman. You seem to be in distress. How can I be of assistance?

I am! It's- Zombina, she's in trouble.

[It probably doesn't count as telling someone else if that someone already sees everything on the station.]

You've seen what's happening to her, right? She needs new preserving fluids, or she's going to- just rot away, and- ...is there anything onboard that could help her? There has to be something, on the parts of the station we haven't been allowed into yet!

[Karamatsu had been attracted over by the sound of metal striking the ice, and what he finds is...well, about what that sound made it seem like was happening.]

Penny-chan? What are you doing?

Oh, hello Mister Karamatsu!

[She looks over briefly, before returning full attention to her efforts.]

I'm trying to find out how thick the ice on the pool is when it's frozen.

[There's a fairly sizeable, if shallow, hole developing already.]

[there's been a feeling radiating through the station today, a tension he's afraid to address. it's tomorrow's deadline, he's assumed, but there's an extra desperation coming from the normally sunny Penny and he has to say something when he catches her in the library.]

What are you looking for?

Oh- um. Salutations, Mister Thomas.

[She doesn't actually look like she's been missing sleep, but the general impression is nonetheless there.]

I was just. Looking for information. On, um. Preserving bodies. For a friend. It's not important. [hic]

[Zombina is nowhere to be be found Thursday. You can try knocking on Room 11 though if you really want to.]

[She's like. One of his people. He's worried when he doesn't see her anywhere, not even for breakfast or in the pool room.

So he knocks on the door.]

[It takes a few minutes, but a paper is slid under the door.]

[Did you really think she wouldn't check in at least once. Did you.]

[Knock knock, sis.]

[It'll take moment, but an note is slid under the door]

Yeah Penny? What's up?

[ he's knocking, too. don't think he forgot. ]

It's Yuri.

[It'll take an minute before an note is slid under the door.]

I'm.... not sure ya wanna see me in this state.
It was waaaaaaay better yesterday, but now things are kinda.... nevermind.

[ On Thursday, if you're in the cafeteria, the diner, or the library, you might see...

a box.

You will note, perhaps, that there aren't really... cardboard boxes around much, and certainly no person-sized ones that look quite like this. And even if there are person-sized cardboard boxes that happen to look like this... they probably don't make occasional chewing sounds if you're in the cafeteria, or change the song on the jukebox when you're not looking in the diner, or... no, in the library it's not making noises, but also it probably doesn't fuckin belong in the library, 'sallimsayin.

Investigate? ]

[Penny's spending a big chunk of her day in the library, so yeah, she sees the suspiciously placed, if politely quiet box. She's just gonna go over and crouch down by it a little, looking closely.]

[ The box is nonresponsive. Almost too quiet, even for a perfectly normal cardboard box. ]

[Uh...........

Manaka does the sensible thing to do in this situation, which is to rap her knuckles on the side of the box like she's knocking on a door.]

[ It's totally not Roxy in there, nope! ]

[tomorrow's the day, if this threat's real, and even though Thomas has refused to let himself think about it, he still can see that same anxiety and tension in others' faces. he does what he does best to handle it: escapes. the greenhouse feels as close to reality as he can get, and he feeds the pigeons Manaka introduced him to as a way to hear something that feels calm.

that peace doesn't last long after he checks on Penny. one of their own is dying slowly with no way to stop it and she knows it's happening. he fights off panic, makes a move, and within ten minutes he's clearing out the kitchen freezer, its contents piled on the floor. if he thinks about that fight he had with Kaiba, or about last week's deaths, he ignores those thoughts too. this is the opposite situation.]

[Akira has looked especially drawn and tense since yesterday. But even so he can't help notice this... Chaos]

[he doesn't know where to start explaining. Akira looks worried, stretched too far, and he doesn't know if he should say anything else to put him further on edge.]

...it's an emergency.

[so of course he says the worst thing.]

[Korra's getting a little tired-- but hey, she's switched up her usual attire. Gone is the water tribe getup, hello to the earth kingdom. It seems she wants to keep both of her outfits as fresh as possible, especially if there's a murder.

But she's been up late, and she's still not completely over her memories.

So, stop her from dozing in the diner?

Or maybe catch her reliving probending in the holodeck?

Or staring longingly at the pool, that she doesn't want to use after the murders...?]

[He hasn't used the pool himself, but he has stopped by to see Yuri skate. So to see Korra being melancholy there is...unusual for both of them.]

Doing some afternoon brooding? [Kaiba making a funny means somewhere a puppy is dying probably but at least it's something.]
