[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

[ On Thursday, if you're in the cafeteria, the diner, or the library, you might see...

a box.

You will note, perhaps, that there aren't really... cardboard boxes around much, and certainly no person-sized ones that look quite like this. And even if there are person-sized cardboard boxes that happen to look like this... they probably don't make occasional chewing sounds if you're in the cafeteria, or change the song on the jukebox when you're not looking in the diner, or... no, in the library it's not making noises, but also it probably doesn't fuckin belong in the library, 'sallimsayin.

Investigate? ]

[Penny's spending a big chunk of her day in the library, so yeah, she sees the suspiciously placed, if politely quiet box. She's just gonna go over and crouch down by it a little, looking closely.]

[ The box is nonresponsive. Almost too quiet, even for a perfectly normal cardboard box. ]

[Clearly a completely innocuous box. Probably with the open end down on the ground though, right? That's a little strange. Penny's gonna lift up the edge a little here. Or try opening the top, if it's actually right side up.]

[ It's not right side up, but the box seems to take issue with that, hopping away a little?? ]

Yo! Rude, girl. You can't just go lifting a poor box like that.

[ That's definitely not Roxy doing a Voice, nope. ]

Oh! I'm VERY sorry.

[Obviously not Roxy, of course. Penny folds her hands over her knees, still squatting to stay at about box level.]

I don't have a lot of experience with box etiquette! Did you need help with anything?

It's cool, it's cool. Not a lot of boxes got the gift of mad gabs like this one, I get you.

I'm just chillin' for now girl, how you doin?

I'm- physically fine. Just worried. A lot. About everyone. ...That's happening a lot more lately.

Hm, yes, this is a very... worrisome sitch. Even for me, who is a box. I won't lie about that.

Yeah, I- don't want to not see everyone here again. But I don't want to kill anyone either!

[And what would Ruby or her father say if they knew she'd killed someone innocent to get back to them?]

And Z-zzzsssomeone is in trouble besides that, and I don't know if I'll be able to find a way to help them. ...Being a box for a while would be nice.

You know, being a box isn't so bad, but I think... even if it's hard, being a Penny is pretty cool too. I hear she's like, ripped, for one thing, and that she's super cool to boot. I think she's got this.

[That actually gets a small, sad smile.]

Manaka does the sensible thing to do in this situation, which is to rap her knuckles on the side of the box like she's knocking on a door.]

[ It's totally not Roxy in there, nope! ]

[As Manaka asks, she pads in a slow circle around the perimeter of the box, checking for eye holes or some sort of window to see through. Can Roxy even see in there??]

Just chillin'. It's what we boxes do, you know?

I see. Why are you in the library, then? It doesn't look like you're reading a book, Ms. Box.

It's quiet in here. Since you know. Libraries be that thing.

Ah. I'm sorry for interrupting, then. Should I leave you alone?

Nah, it's cool. How you doing this fine space day?

Mm, I suppose I can't complain. Being alive is the most I can ask for in a situation like this.

I can see that point of view, I guess. I sure am glad to be a box and not like. A dead box. Let's hope we keep being alive, yeah?

[ The box moves a little up and down, like someone's shrugging under it. ]

If I was pretending to be a box, it would be mostly to try to give someone an interaction in here that isn't about impending doom. Maybe make em laugh a lil, if I'm lucky.
