Week 2

[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.

Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

All we can do is be patient. I'm not complaining about the clothes we have. At least it's not like something out of those awful space movies.

No, I know, but I'm just...a little self conscious about how you can...you know...

[She makes a curvy motion with her hands.]

Are you that self-conscious? You look fine to me.

Well, yes, of course I am! [A bit softer,] I'm not - I know I'm not the ideal sort of girl in any capacity, and I don't mind, but I do mind the capacity for people to be cruel because of it!

[........] Ideal sort of girl?

Yeah.

[Why are you acting like her being self conscious is weird]

[bylight]

[Because Lightning never gave appearance much thought until someone compliments her.]

What exactly is an ideal sort of girl? Is it a specific shape and weight? Height? Hair color?

[cyan_maid]

Usually shape and weight. The other two things are pretty sujective.

[She watches Jane for a while.]

I think you're good just the way you are.

[She folds her arms in front of her.]

I usually think so, too. But what I think and what other people tend to think are two different things.

Don't listen to those idiots. They try to bring you down to make themselves feel less worthless.

Mm...I'll try not to. It helps that there's only so many people here to listen to.

[And that number is just going to keep dwindling.]
