week 2
[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.
Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]
Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.
[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]
[ooc: welcome to week 2, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

No. I'm a world above all them and we all knew it.
[...but...]
But all except one are talented in ways that have a lot of merit. That's what our school cared about: talent. We were all the best in our fields, despite our young ages.
[Surprisingly enough, Togami does sound...fond of them. The 78th class of Hope's Peak aren't by any means people he'd trust, but he had gained respect for pretty much all of them after having to share two years of life. Not that he'll ever tell them]

[Condescended? Maybe. Needled? Definitely. An ego that would set up this little test could probably use it, in the Doctors non-professional opinion.]
So another group of 'champions', then. Twisted minds think alike, I guess. Either someone's takin' some inspiration from your biography, or that's a hell of a coincidence.
[And given Togami's title...]
...Do you remember how you survived the first game?
no subject
[Because yeah, now that they're talking about this...]
The reason why I set up this test in the first place is because I needed to inform someone that there are many similarities between what I remember of the game I survived and this one. The titles, the closed setting, the trials, the motives...I haven't ruled out that the Hope's Peak game served as inspiration for this one.
As to how I survived...I don't remember. It's possible I successfully murdered someone and got away with it. [Togami knows what he's capable of, and he's sure he'd get away with murder] Since our memories got removed in that game too we didn't know we had been classmates for two years.

[Excuse you, he has saved MANY planets in his time.]
I don't think any of us'd be here if we weren't capable of 'winning' under the Overseers' conditions, under the right circumstances. ...That's a good point though, none of us actually know how much memory we've lost. This place seems pretty new, but we've already been pulled in from different timelines entirely, bringing us to a new location would be less than child's play compared to that.

[...looks like he's convinced the Overseers specifically chose to remove his memories as a way to inconvenience the group. Hohoh, you wish, Togami]
no subject
[He's thinking.]
If everything else was accurate, we wouldn't question anything but the really huge gaps, yeah? And they had to've known whatever they've done to our memories was temporary. Keep the rest of the profiles accurate, fudge the ages by what, maybe a year or two?
It'd be overdramatic an' hackneyed as hell, but that's about the Overseers style. Win the game an' surprise! You killed someone you'd spent months with as a friend, or coworker, or whatever.

Are you considering seriously the possibility we all were brought together some time ago? Why'd we be chosen to work together in anything?
no subject
[He scratches at the back of his head.]
Hell, maybe we all just had freak accidents and this world is some kind of hub for the multiverse, I'd almost believe that more than someone like Bolton having enhanced time scoop tech.
no subject
[A series of freak accidents, huh]
What about the profiles? That doesn't hint a freak accident. The same with our memories, it's not something that happens by accident.

Bunch of people show up from outside the known universe for no good reason, that's the kind of thing the right people would be able to find. Someone in charge tracks us all down to quarantine us or whatever, make sure we don't have the interdimensional black plague, an' starts keeping other notes on us. Then the Benefactors or whoever come along an' co-opt it all for this little experiment.
