Week 2

[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.

Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

[...Very well, then. Angelica doesn't argue. Instead, for lack of anything else to do with herself, she wanders over to take a seat beside Ricky.]

Ricky looks over at her, and finally swallows the bite that was in her mouth.]

Want some?

...Would you like me to have some?

[She doesn't look directly at her as she answers. Compared to her normal focus, she definitely seems out of it...]

I think you should. It's delicious.

[And maybe it'll snap her out of... whatever it is that's going on...]

Very well.

[So... Angelica will just take whatever utensil Ricky isn't using, then.]

[The spoon should work fine. Ricky pushes the plate over in her direction, too, so there's less awkward reaching infolved.]

[She says nothing as she scoops up a piece with her spoon, bringing it to her mouth and chewing in silence.

Yep.]

[She tries her best to not look like she's watching carefully to see what Angelica thinks of the pie.

Her best isn't very good in this case.]

[...Yeah, sorry, Ricky. Angelica's face remains perfectly blank, as it always does.]

[WELL CLEARLY PIE IS WASTED ON HER. BRB HATING YOU FOREVER no just kidding. This is still normal for Angelica after all.]

...It's very sweet.

I suppose it is.

[What makes a food good?? She just doesn't know.]

They have other flavors, if you want to try them.

[Is she looking for an excuse to order five more slices of pie? Sources say yes.]

...No. [She pushes the plate back toward Ricky.] You're the one who needs this.

[Comfort food doesn't do much for her, so Ricky should keep it for herself, obviously.]

[R-rejected?]

But you can stay here if you'd like.

[She answers that with no words and a soft hum. Still... She doesn't move, so it looks like she is staying.]

[A few bites later...]

Have you checked out any of the other new rooms yet?

No. Not yet. I will investigate the layout of this floor once we've finished here.

[Ricky is important, obviously.]

I'll come with you. I have maps to draw, after all.

[She won't argue.]

[Yay! Now they just need three more people and they'll be a proper adventuring party.]

Great. I think we should check out these first. [The music room and the zero-gravity room. She bases this entirely on the fact that it'll mean turning left when they exit the diner.]
