Week 2

[The second week in the Champion Excellence Program kicks off on a somber note. Chitanda, Toby, the Griffin- all three of them gone, two of them in one fell swoop. If anyone thinks to check the profiles on their P.I.P.s they will find that the dearly departed Champions' profile photos have been greyed out.

Right on the dot at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning, as she has for the past week. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[The new floor isn't the only thing floating around the ship though, at least metaphorically. When the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

Team B. Why.

[Leader. Again. Why is she always the leader? Lightning sighs, crossing her arms and looking at the people on her team. The P.I.P. is heavier on her arm than before, but easily ignored. Not being able to use magic was fine. She was still plenty strong without it.]

Don't break the rules. Don't get hit and knocked out of the game on purpose just because you don't want to hurt someone on the other team. Right now those people over there are the enemy. [And] Unless you think you can catch the ball, don't take a hit for someone else.

[Pretty standard, right? Light glances over at McBurn before she goes on.] And if anyone on this team decides to be lazy, I will take you down after the match myself. Let's get ready.

[Look Lightning and Yurika make excellent co-leaders here, Jane can learn a lot about friendleading from both of them.]

Can we try blocking the enemy balls with the balls we're holding? I've seen that done before?

As long as you don't get your hands hit, I don't see why not.

[So Jane has played dodgeball? Good. Maybe.]

As long as you grip in a way that the backs of your hands face towards your body, it works.

[There's plenty of asshole boys who do that in gym classes. So many.]

I'll keep that in mind if I need to do something like that.

[Boys are #1 when it comes to assholes.]

I think we'll be alright, so long as we watch out for each other. Gosh, I almost wish I knew what everyone was like when it comes to physical stuff...this would make planning a little more reassuring.

Kurumi has some training when it comes to fighting, but only for survival. She'll have quite a bit of stamina. [Told Light all about her zombie fighting adventures.] Xander... I have personal experience fighting him. He's a wall, so getting hit will be very painful. Margulis seems like a soldier, so a trained fighter. Be wary of him. Togami isn't one for physical matches, but don't count him out. Seth, either. Natsuhi will be their weak link. Ricky is second. Sadie... I don't think she cares. She'll most likely let herself be knocked out without a fight.

[But these are just observations and things she's learned from people.]

You've figured all that out just from spending a little over a week here?

[Though an addendum, Togami will totally push his limits should his ego be in danger of getting a speck of dust on it, Jane speaks from experience.]

Part of being-[no]-having been a soldier, is to pay attention to all of your allies and enemies. To find their weaknesses and strengths so you can use them or how to take them down accordingly.

[Sometimes the neurotic ones are the sneakiest.]

Gosh...I guess I could learn a thing or two from that.

[Give it a week or so and hopefully your 5+ months of fighting for your life will come back to you sweetie]

It can keep you from being killed in the future.

Good job, Lightning-san! We've already got our formation, and with this team, I'm sure we can handle it!

[And if McBurn does decide to be lazy, they've decided behind his back to make him cannon fodder, so it works out.]

[Please don't praise her. It's embarrassing to always be the leader...]

So I've seen. [She was a little too busy trying to figure out just what this game reminded her of for a moment.] Is there someone keeping an eye on Thomasin?

I think she might surprise us! She picked up on the basics quickly.

[She lowers her voice.]

Let the others know that Xander can't protect his legs very well. I would know. I fought him the other night. [It's not cheating. It's taking advantage of the situation.]

[ratherdoweddings]

[She whispers back:] I'll tell Shadow-kun! He was planning to aim low, since he's so small.

[bylight]

Good. At least one of us has a height advantage. Be wary or Margulis. I don't know what that man is capable of. [Just gonna keep whispering because planning.] Seth as well. He's a snake of a man and might have something up his sleeve.

I think he's either going to go out early or be the last one standing.

Either way, let's make him pay for those paintings. [THIS IS PERSONAL]

Exactly! I know it's tempting, but if you go for the face you're out. Still, if we can afford it and we have no choice...
