Week 3

[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

(( ooc: Don't forget to turn in your AC for Week 2, submit your memory regains, and put in your benefactor threads! ))

[Despite not quite understanding the joke, Varric let out a boisterous laugh.]

Not bad, big guy. Not bad. Unfortunately, you're a bit off base. I've been compared more to a ferocious, mutated nug more often than not. A bit racist, if you ask me, but what can you do.

Good try, though.
pr159: (you can't change the system)

[ "Nug"? Between that and "chocobo", these other worlds really do have dumb sounding names for their monsters. (Not respectable names like "chirpee" or "clukkit".)

Anyway, as far as he's concerned, the only "races" that exist are those humans who can use spirit artes and those who can't -- spirits themselves don't count as people, of course -- so he's a little fuzzy on exactly what he's being accused of there, but whatever. ]

Thank you.

[ He crosses his arms. ]

So, can I help you? Or are you just exploring the new areas?
neverheardofhim: (headtilt)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-29 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
A little bit of both, actually. [Varric stepped further inside, then plopped himself rather gracelessly onto one of the beds. he restraints were noted with a troubled sort of look, and then promptly disregarded. He could consider the implications later.]

Getting to know this place is good. But I also need to know the people. Who I can trust and who I can't.
pr159: (but things don't work that way)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-29 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ Don't sit on a hospital bed when you don't need it!! Those sheets are supposed to be kept sterile! ]

Not unreasonable, but under the circumstances, do you really think there's anyone you can trust?
neverheardofhim: (shit eating grin)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-29 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[The sheets are now infected with dwarf butt. R.I.P, whoever needs the bed next.]

Sure thing. Mako refused to let me torture anyone, so he's probably trustworthy. Noctis, Red and Scribbles have been honest with me from the beginning. Why wouldn't I trust them?
pr159: (there's much i don't want to remember)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-29 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He's going to assume "Red" is Pyrrha, but... ]

"Scribbles"?
neverheardofhim: (these kinda look like bedroom eyes)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-30 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Fukawa. The cute little writer girl.

[Varric has conveniently not seen her at her worst.]
pr159: (of course it's me you've come to try)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-30 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
...Well, not all worlds have the same definition of "cute", I suppose.
neverheardofhim: (da fuq did u say)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-30 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Well that was certainly enough to darken his demeanor.]

You have some sort of problem with her?
pr159: (sell us things which are already ours)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-30 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Not especially.

[ aside from whatever the hell was going on in the hall the other day??? what was that tongue ]

Just not my type is all.

[ by any stretch of the imagination. ]
neverheardofhim: (hawke is ded)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-30 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[The dwarf made a very obviously disgusted expression.]

She's a kid. She'd better not be your type.

[Gross.]
pr159: (as if you've never caused a scene)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-30 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
[ Okay, a) She's 19 and he's in his twenties so that's not exactly an inappropriate age gap; b) People in his world can go to medical school at 15 and live independently and manage research labs at 16 so she is well above that adulthood threshold; c) He is not going to voice either of these arguments because he doesn't want to touch that shit with a ten foot pole in the first place. ]

Like I said, she's not. At all.

[ Hey, they're in agreement on the "gross" part. ]
neverheardofhim: (edgy shadows)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-31 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Listen.
Listen.
Okay fair point.]

Good. Glad we cleared that one up. [A smirk slowly coiled across his lips, even as shadow still lined his face.] If I do see you looking at her though...

[Bianca might have been out of commission, but Rideaux didn't need to know that.]
pr159: (i don't have time to regret)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-08-31 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Believe me, you won't.

[ Didn't they go off on this tangent because he said she wasn't cute?? what do you want from him ]

...Back on topic, you're obviously welcome to trust whomever you please, but I'd still advise against dropping your guard too much with anyone. People will do nearly anything if they're desperate enough.

[ He doesn't say it as if it's a threat, at least. Just some... friendly advice from your neighborhood doctor. ]

Just my two gald.
neverheardofhim: (Da fuq)

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-08-31 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[You can say someone is cute without mentioning your type, Rideaux.]

After the last night, I'd say I know better than anyone, how people can't be trusted. [After all, if blood didn't mean anything then what did?]

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop. I told this to the detective as well -- the second we stop trusting each other, thinking of one another as potential killers, that's when this all goes to shit.
pr159: (but things don't work that way)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-09-01 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Better than anyone"?

[ Someone else who had a strange dream, maybe? It seems unlikely that anyone would have just realized yesterday that they couldn't trust someone dubbed "Champion Backstabber", and he did specifically say last night. Hm. ]

I'd say it's a little late for that.

[personal profile] neverheardofhim 2017-09-04 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Your fashion sense might be shit, but I don't think you're stupid. I had a dream, same as everyone else here.

[He'd heard enough whispers and talked to enough people around the prison to have a general idea of what everyone had been dealing with over the past handful of hours.]

Look. One person killed another. That means we've lost one person to this sick game, and rid ourselves of a murderous asshole as a result. Compare that to the amount of people Blaze has killed.

What makes more sense -- distrusting someone to the point we feel it's better to kill them, or trusting one another long enough to figure out how to take this asshole out?
pr159: (you can't change the system)

[personal profile] pr159 2017-09-04 11:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ eyes narrow; fuck you ]

Not everyone had the same kind of dream, you know. I don't know what went on in your head.

[ He's still a little curious to find out what it was, but whatever. ]

Frankly, neither. I have no problem with working with the rest of you to find a resolution to this situation, but I'm not going make the foolhardy assumption that one of you won't fall for the next motive he comes up with.
