the mock investigation

[The week at the space station has trickled by slowly. Friday morning after CECE awakens everyone with her usual cheery announcement over their PIPs it's dead quiet, the oppressive threat to their homes still lingering in the air. There's still hours to go before the deadline but will someone really have the guts to go through with it in such small quarters?

Or is the better question has someone already gone through with it?]

It's just a ladder, Mr. Hedgehog.

[honestly what's the other option? turn on the zero g and help EVERYBODY become evidence? that'll go over real well.]

I'll do it after I'm done with this!

[KIDS GET DOWN FROM THERE]

[honestly you people SHE'S EIGHTEEN, SHE CAN CLIMB A LADDER]

Too bad. I got here first.

She's fine, growl growl.

[Hey, she's not that young.]

At least wait until I can spot you!

[WHEN HIS DAUGHTER WAS 18 SHE WAS NEARLY DECAPITATED BY A SHARK AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS DON'T YOU GIVE HIM GUFF]

[HEY SHE WAS SHOT OFF A ROOF AND WAS FINE IT'S FINE]

I'm spotting her.
strikemonster: (so i don't get all the ladies)

Mr. Shepard, does it kind of look like he got stabbed with a pool stick, only the pool stick was metal?

[She's not touching the thing. It stays in the ceiling. What if pulling it out causes a breach in the hull or something???]

[OH HI THERE GUTS-ENCRUSTED SHAFT AS HE LOOKS UP TO WATCH AND MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE DIES]

Pretty much run right through with something decently long, yeah. I think its safe to say you found the weapon that killed this guy.

He . . . he might have been alive-ish when the gravity turned back on. [She sounds kind of disgusted, which is more emotion than she shows 95% of the time.] The blood on here is still wet.
semperperatus: (WHY THE HELL AM I IN SPACE???!!)

[personal profile] semperperatus 2017-01-13 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I...don't think that's the case. Our file says he died last night, much as I hate to trust it much, and even then zero gravity messes with how blood clots.

It would be dangerous for you to pull it out as well. I will handle that.

[He glides down a while later with the pole in his claws.]

Whoever did this possesses significant strength. The end has not been sharpened, which would have been necessary in most cases to actually pierce both the flesh and the wall.

[Ok, wow, Shepard looks both impressed and shocked.]

Damn.

Indeed. Although I am not sure we have the tools to sharpen metal in here at all. [Although he supposes that fire-controlling guy might be able to shape it, depending on how hot his fire can get.] Still, I feel that eliminates several possible suspects from consideration.

[personal profile] semperperatus 2017-01-14 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, geez. Who the hell is even strong enough to do this?
misplacedxsheath: (Hmmm...I'll consider it.)

[personal profile] misplacedxsheath 2017-01-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, since the body itself seems cleared...]

Is it possible someone retained some form of enhanced strength?

[Tapping the wall. Just how hard does it seem, anyway?]
misplacedxsheath: (Hmmm...I'll consider it.)

[personal profile] misplacedxsheath 2017-01-14 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
The most difficult part would have been piercing the body itself, these walls are fairly soft. With proper momentum, it would be possible for an ordinary person.
stitch_in_time: (did I leave the gas on)

If i'm wrong yell at me ooc

[personal profile] stitch_in_time 2017-01-14 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
It's not hard to get momentum in zero gravity. Stopping's usually more the problem.

[Shucking off the first-aid gloves and keeping a hold on that bead.]
misplacedxsheath: (Hmmm...I'll consider it.)

[personal profile] misplacedxsheath 2017-01-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Air resistance plays a part, but at this scale it would make little difference. There's more than enough points of leverage to build up speed.

I am not sure even I could do this, although that is more due to the shape of my limbs than my strength. [He can carry a giant statue of himself with only some tiredness, okay?] I suppose a launching device of some sort could have been used, but it would need to be braced in some way, especially under the usual circumstances of this room.
