[The week at the space station has trickled by slowly. Friday morning after CECE awakens everyone with her usual cheery announcement over their PIPs it's dead quiet, the oppressive threat to their homes still lingering in the air. There's still hours to go before the deadline but will someone really have the guts to go through with it in such small quarters?

Or is the better question has someone already gone through with it?]

[So after that announcement McBurn is going to outright avoid the zero G room because investigating requires effort and he has zero fucks to give today, not like he ever does.

So instead he's going to the kitchen to see what sort of food he can scrounge up that is remotely bearable and if there is any coffee left. Does anything seem out of the ordinary?]

[One of the things he'll find is Natsuhi and cup lying in a puddle. She's stopped to look at him. But she had been in the process of searching the drawers.]

...Hello? [Good morning doesn't really seem appropriate now.]

[Great, he just wanted some food and to leave. Excuse him, he's so not a morning person, or afternoon person or any time of day person.]

And here I was hoping to avoid dealing with anyone before getting some food and coffee.

[He gives a loud yawn. His tone sounds more bored than tired though.]

[She frowns at the tea again for second. Then turns fully to face him. After that announcement she's going to keep her guard up.]

...You better hurry then. I think we'll be joining them soon.

[Grouping together would help, wouldn't it?]

[Nothing looks immediately out of the ordinary. Feel free to scrounge through the cabinets for some eats, McBurn.]

[He'll be doing just that. Hopefully nothing weird is in there, well besides the food itself.]

[That depends, does a small tool box count as weird?]

[It certainly doesn't belong with the food. Now as much as he does tend to be a lazy ass, he does actually know not to leave fingerprints. He's had quite a bit of training in how to be an effective criminal after all.

So he'll look first to see if there are any towels to grab this with. If not he'll improvise with some of the food packets to ensure he doesn't leave his own prints there. Then first he'll look on the outside it. Anything on the outside like blood? Also does this look like something that anyone could have found in the station somewhere?]

[There are some paper towels lying around if those will do.

The outside of the box is clean and does indeed have the same sort of aesthetic as the rest of the ship. Definitely originated on the ship.]

[Okay, he'll grab some paper towels and use those to lay the box on the counter and to open it. So what's inside? Hopefully no blood or guts because dang McBurn would like to enjoy some breakfast sometime today.]

[Nope, no milkshakes in this box. Just a small assortment of tools like a hammer, some pliers, a small wrench.]

[So any obvious empty spaces? It does seem a bit odd for this toolbox to be lacking a screwdriver after all. But since Natsuhi laid the screwdriver found in the drawer on the counter, does it look like that screwdriver belongs to this tool box?]

[That screwdriver looks like it fits perfectly with this toolbox.]

[Well, that sure is interesting. Why leave it here and not put it back where it was found so it wouldn't draw notice? Obviously they have a rather stupid murderer here.

Anything else of note in the toolbox? He's not going to put the screwdriver back in it quite yet since the fact that they were separated may be relevant.]
