week 3
[Come week 3 of the Champion Excellence Program the high-flying feelings that came with the dodgeball game last week has dissipated, especially after the...everything that was that trial. Satan Mask sure was a thing that happened.
Just like last week, right on the dot at 7 am, the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]
Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.
[And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]
[ooc: welcome to week 3, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

With the spectacle she's made, she doesn't want to monopolize anyone's attention or force them to speak with her, which makes for some quiet, contemplative, passive-ass prompts. Later, she can be found in the sewing room, looking over the bolts of fabric and running her index finger over them, trying to figure out which to choose. In the greenhouse, she immediately seeks out the rosemary she's been talking about for a week now, and once she finds it she kneels down to breathe in the smell. She really should have brought scissors. The pigeons are fascinating, and when she's not trying to get them to perch near her like a Disney princess she's checking their roost for eggs. It's a habit well-ingrained by her old daily chores. Also, assuming there's an apple tree, she's gonna just stare up at that morosely for a bit. You know, real normal stuff. ]

I am. [ She certainly looks better. Her hair is all braided up again, and her eyes are clear and calm. Perhaps a little embarrassed if anything. ] But I owe all who saw an apology for my... carriage and my words.

[ She bites her lip. ]
I could not abide it. Bolton... before the showers, he saw me weeping in the kitchens. [ It was actually the cafeteria, but who's even counting, also kitchens sounds more fittingly Ye Olde. ] He knew for what I cried, and did try to calm me -- he gave what comfort he could. I thought it was honest. And today, in the selfsame place--
It would be less cruel if they were only ever hard to us. That is why I went mad.

... Dost think this week will be any different from the last?

I... had a dream the other night, where someone important to me looked to be dead. Kurumi-chan told me it must be fine because the other memory I got had him alive and it must have taken place after, but I'm still worried. But in the dream, I was still taking the mission seriously... at least in front of my crew. Because the war was still on. It's like that here, too, I think.

I pray Kurumi is right.

greenhouse
The greenhouse was not a place she's been to as of yet, so stepping in makes her stop. It smells so different in here... Light spies the young girl and approaches slowly.]
Thomasin?

Lightning. [ She doesn't know what else to say, so she just kind of adds: ] What strange wonders they have given us.
no subject
Did anyone explain to you why rooms like this exist?
no subject
[ what's oxygen lol ]
I never knew any manner of ship could hold such a bounty.

[No need to get into super technical details. No lessons on oxygen for Thomasin just yet.]
It's not easy. They have to have a clean water source and proper lighting. They thought of everything for this room...

Dost think they put the work forth for us alone? Or be we but the latest in their history of champions?
no subject
[Or they could have deep scrubbed the entire station.]

Gym
You know, under the circumstances, it may be for the best if you learned some rudimentary self-defense.

It might be. But wherever should I start with such training?

[ She says this pretty matter-of-factly, but her expression is more questioning. What... is a good stance? Help. ]
How can I practice?

[He shifts his feet into a position that looks like they would make an L if you drew a line from his heels back.]
no subject
Is this it?
no subject
[He crouches down, half sitting on the ground. Adjusting someone's footwork is awkward when you're tall.]
Here, allow me to adjust your placement.
no subject
Pray pardon--
[ Once he gets her to shift into the right form, though, the worry in her expression clears. She stares down at her feet. ]
I can feel it.
