[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

Yeah, I wouldn't say to a hand. Oh god, please don't ever tell Zombina I said that. But, uh, there's a lotta rooms to check.

[Lest Max have Zombina take him literally one day.]

That side of the hall, past the cafeteria.

[He gestures in the direction he was already kinda headed.]

...mostly. Kinda been jumping around a little, when I run into people. Wanna just help me see who's still in there?

I can do that.

[He'll follow you, Max-man.]

Though I cannot blame people for needing time alone in their rooms after this past weekend...I usually find myself needing to stretch my legs to calm down. If there were any possible way to sit on whatever roof this craft has without the threat of space, I can promise you I'd be doing that now.

[Something about being outside calms Karamatsu. He's not sure seeing the sun from space would help much, though.]

Oh, that'd be pretty neat! If we had spacesuits or something. It's not like we could even escape, right? You can't just keep on going forever, you'd run out of air.

But, uh, yeah. I'd rather be around people than shut up in my room.

[karappo]

We could try, but you are right...we would probably not last long enough to try and dog-paddle our way to the moon.

[Is that sort of thing even possible? Survey says no.]

You are just that kind of person, Max-san. Very social and concerned for others.

Uh...yeah, I guess. Kinda an extrovert. But I know some people'd rather be by themselves when they're upset, so...as long as they eat.

[karappo]

Remembering to take care of yourself is important in a time like this. At least doing this takes the step of remembering out.

[Karamatsu walks alongside Max quietly, looking down at his shoes as they walk through the hallway.]

...how have you been, by the way?

[theundertaken]

I'm...okay.

[It comes out weaker than he wanted. And how could it not, after losing Prompto like that?]

I don't know. I mean, I think doing this kinda helps me, you know? Keeping busy and all that.

[karappo]

[Karamatsu nods. Don't worry, he understands. He can't say he was as close to Prompto as some of the others here, but having come up on his body like he did...he's still having nightmares about it.]

You have to do what helps you. I think Prompto-san and Miss Lunafreya would have wanted it.

[theundertaken]

.....probably, yeah. I never even really knew she went out and patrolled like that...

[karappo]

Neither did I. She was trying to keep an eye out for things, for all of us...and that is what she got to show for it.

[Like, he doesn't understand Slaine's reasoning, but he can at least get it. But that doesn't make it okay.]

We should. We should probably all just stay in at night from now on. Or not go out alone, at least...

[Which, uh, presents its own problems. But you know.]

[karappo]

That would be wise, assuming everyone does it.

[He knows there are people who probably won't, but he at least understands why. Being cooped up in your room all night with people getting killed every week is kindof unnerving.]

[theundertaken]

Yeah, that's the problem. No real way to enforce something like that, short of like, sending people out to check? And then they'd be out at night.

[karappo]

What if we took shifts together? Then someone would always be accountable for someone else, wouldn't they?

That could work, as long as they were both cool.

[and no one fucking killed their partner or something]
