[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

It's from Slaine.

[ ...probably the last person max wants to hear from but. it is what it is. ]

Do whatever you want with it. It's a letter.

[Max's eyes narrow, but he reaches out to take it.]

The fuck would he write me a letter for?

Beats me. I didn't even know you guys talked to each other.

[ not like yuri keeps track of that or anything but. yeah. ]

[theundertaken]

We didn't? I mean, a few times, sure, but.

[His fingers hover as if to open the envelope - it's probably not gonna be such a shitshow that he needs to do it in his room. But...]

Is this what we're doing now? Writing death letters for ourselves every week?

[quadjumps]

Guess so.

[ he sounds sad when he says it, holding on to his own envelope from slaine. he really shouldn't--he should have crumpled it--but he can't help it. ]

[theundertaken]

...huh.

[well]

You doing okay?

[quadjumps]

I'll be fine.

[ he looks like total shit right now, though. ]

...You were close to Prompto too, weren't you?

[theundertaken]

....yeah, I. Um.

[Max ducks his head, absentmindedly rubbing a hand over his wrist.]

We talked a lot. Some of the same stuff he told you, probably... [They has both seemed to be on the same page in the trial, especially about...well, that tattoo.] I wish...

[But he trails off.]

[quadjumps]

[ yuri sure did notice that, and he's also noticing how max is rubbing his wrist.

yuri points to his own, looking max in the eye. ]

He told you, right?

[theundertaken]

.......yeah.

[Max feels like he should add something else. He's just not sure what. There's some comfort in knowing that he's not the sole surviving person who carries Prompto's secrets, though.]

[quadjumps]

He was more human than some of the other people on this station could ever be.

[ he was kind. he cared about yuri and gave him warmth when he was cold. like max, yuri, too, takes comfort in knowing that prompto had confided in someone else. ]

[theundertaken]

He was...he was really good. He was one of the best people here.

[Max sees no reason to tear down any of the others to honor Prompto, but he thinks that much is true.]
