[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

I find it curious they put two specific kinds of artists in here. And, no offense, you and White and Fell all seem very...normal.

Yeah, no, we've...kinda noticed that. And yeah, you'd think they'd just want a Champion Artist. Leaves more, uh, diversity or something. I mean, I guess he's probably better at landscapes than me, or vice versa, but it's not such a different thing that I totally can't do a landscape.

Maybe he's just a really dedicated fan?

[He adds a black bow tie to Kaiba's neck and bridal veil and blush squiggles to the Blue Eyes White Dragon.]

So you do have a job as an artist! That does not surprise me, you've seemed quite passionate about it during our talks.

I can't imagine that kid doing literally anything just for fun

Just plain champion artist, they would truly have to be a talented genius, skilled in many artforms. You get more diversity in being specific. But still, you'd think they would have felt they were overrepresenting a certain market.

[she frowns]

This was the first time it was on purpose, though... And even though I was so angry at him...

Yeah. I think it was... seeing Naga that really made it hit home.

[she pauses]

Much better than last Sunday, if you're talking about memories. How about you...? You've been looking after all of us... How are you holding up?

I know. I was angry, too. I believe we all were.

[Karamatsu leans back on his heels, looking ahead at the greenery surrounding them.]

The worst part about all of this is that every time, the party involved had some sort of reason. Not that...I am saying there ever is a reason for murder, but. I assume Chitose-chan felt afraid for someone she cared about even if she never succeeded in drawing blood, and both Lucina-san and Tsurugi-san were unintentional. And Slaine-san...

[Karamatsu's expression tightens.]

I can at least understand where they have come from. If that makes sense.

Not that it will ever change the fact that people are losing their lives.

[Today, finally, Max ventures into Prompto's room. Yuri had hinted that there was something of his in there, but right after the trial, he hadn't had the stomach for it. If he sits quietly with himself, he knows that it still hasn't been long enough. But he doesn't have time for that, so...

Late in the afternoon, Max can be found in the library. He's wearing a new hoodie that looks big and comfortable, and he's got a shoebox sitting on his lap, full of pictures that he's flipping through. For once, he doesn't greet anybody who walks in, but he is doing this out in public; you can probably ask.

In the evening, he floats between the memorial wall and the cafeteria for a little bit, before bringing in his portrait of Lunafreya to sit on a table off to the side of the latter. It's clearly large enough that it would have blocked off part of the hallway if it joined all the other stuff out there. Just to keep it from looking weird by itself, he leaves a few smaller canvases as well - a drawing of Luna and Noctis (done at Prompto's request), and one of Prompto and Lucina together.]

It doesn't excuse it. What would they do if we didn't? They tried with the first week and it failed.

[she just looks. angry? At the situation.]

The motives didn't even matter until last week, and now... Now I'm just-- afraid. Luna tried, and if I'd been well, I could have been patrolling with her, but I wasn't.

[she's so frustrated with her memories.]

Oh god, I keep forgetting he's only in high school. How is he only in high school?

He complains about having to go to meetings like he's 55 and I really don't understand anything

[Zombina off on the other side just sort of dumping an entire bottle of vodka into a punch bowl]
