[The Champions have now been here for one week, and while the dud of a first incentive didn't tempt anybody, the fact remains obvious: a lack of murder isn't going to be the thing that gets you out of here.

Blaze Dudely and Rox have not made a reappearance since Tuesday, leaving you to your own devices for the moment. That door they entered and exited through remains locked, and there is no new area to access this week. Are you sure they're even still back there? Despite their absence, you all wake up on Sunday morning from strange dreams. What to make of it?

I mean, I'd love to see the kid lighten up. Not that it's not totally warranted? But he's gonna give himself a heart attack if he's already this keyed up about everything.

I agree. Did you know that he is a world class figure skater, at his age? I can see why he is so serious, at the very least.

That kinda lifestyle always seemed awful to me, you know? Pushing kids that hard at such a young age - they should be able to enjoy themselves while they're young. But I guess he'd probably say I'm an underachiever, so.

[Shrug. He's pretty alright with his life, but he is not an Olympic-level anything.]

Likewise. It is fine to encourage your children to be their best, but...he should be enjoying his childhood, not spending it working.

But...as tightly wound as he is, he does seem proud of what he has accomplished. I can respect that.

Yeah. I'd never say something like that to him, it's important to him.

...seems like there's lots of kids who didn't get to enjoy their childhoods here, though.

That it does. It is a shame, really? I mean...my brothers and I lived life to the fullest when we were children. We did not really care about much of anything beyond going to school and playing when we were home.

[Doesn't change the fact that they were little hellions, but aren't most kids terrible?]

Yeah. They shouldn't be stuck with...fighting magic monsters, or whatever. Or being here, but that's a whole different set of shit.

It really puts your own home into perspective, seeing where all of the others are from. It is a little shocking how many other worlds there are out there.

Yeah, right? I've read books and stuff with alternate universes in them, but I never really thought it was real. At least, not like this. I'm probably one of the most normal, non-magic people here.

That is probably for the best that you are, non? You have seen how crazy our lives can be.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if ours was just...very normal, very average.

Yours sounds pretty normal? I mean, not normal with me as a baseline, with the...identical sextuplet child stars and everything. But comparatively.

Also hey, have you noticed that this thing that's going on isn't translating your random French? [we're allowed to point out the random French, right?]

Why would that be, though?

I have no idea? I mean, it's not like we can't all figure out what "non" is if we don't know, but still.

[He looks up at the ceiling.]

So, if I start using random Spanish when I talk, that's gonna work, si? [.....] Cool, I hate it!

...maybe it takes note of the context of which we are using the words. Presumably, I am still speaking in Japanese currently...but occasionally I will use english or french words when I am speaking. But it is taking my speech still and translating it into something you would understand, if you did not already speak Japanese...

I wonder what it's doing when you use English? I haven't noticed anything except the French. Other than that, this whole thing sounds like English to me. And Spanish seems to be half-and-half - but I've pretty much only used it to see what happens. I'm just gonna walk up to someone and start talking in Spanish sometime, see what happens.

[Yeah, this whole time Karamatsu has definitely been speaking Japanese and throwing in random english...but if it sounds like all english to Max...that's pretty crazy.]

I wonder what I sound like, speaking in English. I have always wanted to learn the language properly, but...it is quite difficult.

Oh, god, dude, don't feel bad. English is an awful nightmare language. Just throw it bits of like, every language you've ever encountered and then make up a bunch of stupid rules that don't make sense, there you go.

[He is not unfamiliar with trying to help people with their English.]

I don't....yeah, I'd like to hear you speak Japanese, actually, that's weird to think about.

Ah, really? Well...I wish there was some sort of way I could speak it for you. Though I understand why they would make us being able to understand each other a wholly permanent thing, at least. I did not even know you spoke Spanish.

Yeah. I've been using English this whole time, 'cause I'm kinda used to that, but I guess it wouldn't matter if I did or not...

I wonder if it works on writing, too.

Hm...we could try? That is the only way to find out for sure.

Okay, so. [Max goes straight for the sketchbooks and pencils and scribbles down THIS IS ENGLISH.] How's this look?

[Karamatsu peers at the words, raising his brows a bit.]

...ah. It is...in Japanese?

[He might not be able to read most English, but he knows katakana when he sees it.]

It says "This is English".

It does say that, but it definitely doesn't look like Japanese to me. I can't write in Japanese. [weird]
