[The Champions have now been here for one week, and while the dud of a first incentive didn't tempt anybody, the fact remains obvious: a lack of murder isn't going to be the thing that gets you out of here.

Blaze Dudely and Rox have not made a reappearance since Tuesday, leaving you to your own devices for the moment. That door they entered and exited through remains locked, and there is no new area to access this week. Are you sure they're even still back there? Despite their absence, you all wake up on Sunday morning from strange dreams. What to make of it?

You can only hope it's not a bad omen for the rest of the week.]

[Sometime before lunch, Lucina's getting a chipper knock on her door.]

Miss Lucina?

For an entire minute, there is no response.]

[Then, there's a soft creak as Lucina's door opens just a bit as she peers out. Already, Penny can see that the solitary eye that's looking at her is red from crying.]

...Penny...?

[As the door opens, Penny's still got a bright grin - which lasts for all of a second or two when she sees Lucina's expression.]

Miss Lucina-? Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?

[challengesfate]

...No, I'm not hurt.

[She'll open the door a bit wider so Penny can see that yes, she has indeed been crying. Her hair's a bit limp and still messy from sleep, her unitard's rumpled, and her bed is unmade, the blankets a mess of a lump on the mattress.]

I...did not sleep well last night. That's all.

...Did you have. Some kind of dream. Memory. Thing. About your home?

[Please be the outlier, please be the outlier, please be the outlier-]

A dream...memory? N-No, I think...it had to of been just a dream, i-it didn't make sense...I was at home, with my father, but...

[But it couldn't be more than a deeply-unsettling dream, or else things are going to be significantly less okay.]

[Yeah, have another hug. It's less enthusiastic than the last one, but still a lot firmer than you'd expect from someone Penny's size.]

I really hope so! ...But. Um. ...I think a lot of us. Had the same. Even me.

[The same...

Lucina had returned the hug on reflex, but her own grip tightens just slightly.]

You as well? You...you dreamed of Grima...?

[Lucina. Lucie. Honey, no.]

What-? No, no, I mean a lot of people had dreams about home, I think.

[Despite the seriousness of the situation, Penny flashes a bright grin for just a second.]

I remembered getting to the singles round of the Vytal Tournament! It was sensational.

[Aaaaand back to the present.]

But. You dreamed about Grima? That's the dragon thing that was attacking your world, right?

Dreams from home...

[Were they all homesick? Or...was this for some other reason? You don't just have a mass dreaming incident, after all. For a moment, there's a spark of something that isn't depression or distress in Lucina upon seeing such an honest smile.]

Ah - that's...wonderful, Penny, I'm glad. But...yes. [And her expression quickly sobers.] I dreamed that Grima had awoken once more. And...I was with my father.

Thank you! I don't remember much besides the announcement, but my first match was going to be VERY exciting.

[Another quick smile, just a bit subdued.]

That's- good, at least? That you were together. That means you could fight back, right?

I...I don't know if we can.

[She remembered the hopelessness inside of her distinctly, in that moment. They may not be able to awaken Chrom's Falchion to its full power. They may have lost her mother completely. There...there was too much Lucina didn't know.]

This...might be it for everything, and...I don't know how we got there, together. I don't even know why I wasn't wearing my mask with him, h-he can't know who I am...

I'm sure you can!

{Believe in the Penny who believes in etc etc.]

And Mister Chrom wouldn't recognize you if for him you hadn't been born yet, right?

...That's the thing. If this took place during the two years I don't remember...or after those two years...then he would know me very quickly. My eyes give it away.

[If you look close enough, Penny, you can actually see that Lucina's got a mark in her left eye. It...doesn't inhibit her sight, but, it's there if you look carefully enough.]

Oh, I see. I suppose that mark IS rather distinctive.

Ah - you can see it, then?

[Yes Lucina, people can see your special eyes. They know your brand.]

Should. I not be able to?

[That's still a thing humans can do, right?]

No, you should - it's fine. I'm just...not used to people realizing it right away.

[Don't worry Penny you are a normal meatperson girl doing normal meatperson things]

Really? That's strange, I would've thought it would be more noticeable. It's very pretty, at least.

A person's eye is rather small, and no one usually thinks to look there for the Brand. My father's, for instance, is on his shoulder, and my Aunt Emmeryn's...was on her forehead.

Right in the middle? Oh dear. I suppose that would be hella visible compared to the eye.

Um, yes, it was..."hella" visible.

[Did you pick that up from Chloe, kiddo]

My cousin and brother, however, keep theirs covered most of the time.

[She hella did.]

Because they think it's embarrassing? Or- did they time travel with you?

They did - Morgan and Owain and our closest friends, we all went together. [She smiles slightly.] Morgan is more my mother's son, so it doesn't matter to him as much, but Owain would never be ashamed of the mark. His mother...my other aunt, Lissa, hers never surfaced, but she was overjoyed when it did on Owain. I think that joy is what helps him retain his pride.
