Week 3

[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

No. I blocked the blow and the other skyfarers took Yggdrasil down. [Maybe she should have said that.] The idea she would try, though...

This friend is someone you really care for, from what I heard at least. [It's a small observation, but definitely meant as a complement.]

She probably knows that too.

That Orchis isn't the friend I knew. She has no memories of our past and yet...

A soul is a very complicated thing, Apollo...

I believe that a new soul grew in that doll, Pyyrha. ['And I'm not very sure what to think about that.']

A new soul? [It's astounding what you hear around here. But more importantly, she sees that Apollo looks concerned.]

If not a new 'soul' then a new identity. Someone the opposite of the Orchis I once knew.

[The doll was meek, quiet. The Orchis she knew was outgoing, full of life.]

One could even say she was born the day of that event.

... [She continues to look back at the stars. Thinking of dolls, and things that aren't quite human, but... they should still count, shouldn't they?]

Well, I don't know everything about your friend, but, maybe there's still more of her there then you previously thought.

[The world...the world was a mysterious place. She probably could hear the sigh from Apollo.]

That might be true but if it's not her personality resurfacing... then that means this Orchis is still her own person. [I'm not sure how to deal with that?]

She didn't even know what a cat was.

That must be so awful for her. And for you, too.

If nothing else... I hope you can get back to her. Being away from those you care about is difficult.

[Then maybe it can all make sense.]

[Apollo's suddenly glad that there's no way for Pyyrha to see her face. Then, briefly, she puts her hand on the other's head. It's her non-dominant hand, the one with the PIP--since there was no way for her gauntlet to be on that hand.]

You waste such niceties on me.

[There might be fondness in those words, regardless.]

[That's... quite the gesture, especially from her. Pyrrha is briefly flummoxed by it. It's not every day that someone taller than her does something like this - normally, she's the one giving the affectionate head gestures.

But the fondness is registered, and... there's some part of her that enjoys it.]

It's... really nothing. I just care, that's all.

[Sure it is.]

[She even ruffles Pyyrha's hair before moving her hand off. It must be nice to be the smaller one.]

I know how to fend for myself. You don't have to give me such words.

[Because she shoves people away. Why do you like her?]

[Being smaller? Pyrrha hasn't known what that's like for years. It's not a wonder why when she's basically the second tallest student in the school.

The hair ruffle is something she's... not going to forget. Aha.]

I don't mean it like that. I'm sure you're capable. [She's already shown her that much.] It's just that sometimes caring is... important.

[Apollo was always a bit big for her size, though small compared to other members of her family. She gives a 'hmph'.]

There are others who deserve your care more, Pyyrha.
