[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

[He kicked his foot once, grimacing when the stilt remained fastened to his shoe.]

First of all, I'm asking because you keep saying it. Second of all? I'm asking because you didn't know what they were, so I assumed you didn't know how they worked, either.

[That tone was enough to sober Varric up. With some amount of effort, he rolled himself over, then propped himself up against a wall. The expression he offered the young man wasn't exactly sheepish or apologetic, but it certainly bore the slightest inklings of guilt.]

Listen, I know enough to know that these sorts of things aren't usually stuck to your feet.

[ mako is quick to react; fire against fire. but varric backs down, and while mako's brow is still furrowed, he's not going to meet him with any more aggression. he's not exactly understanding but he can at least figure that the sour mood's because of the stilts! ]

How? It's like you can't just get rid of them?

[Varric lifted his foot, holding it up for Mako to inspect. The dwarf did his best not to look at either the boy or his own condition, opting instead to glower off to the side with a fierce scowl on his lips.]

It doesn't look like they're attached to Varric but it sure feels like they are. What is this sorcery. He's so confused? ]

You got me. I might be something of a heavy sleeper, but I'm sure I'd notice someone creeping around in my room and messing with my feet.

[He kicked said limbs once more, as if grousing for a few seconds longer might have somehow helped him.]
