Week 3

[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

(( ooc: Don't forget to turn in your AC for Week 2, submit your memory regains, and put in your benefactor threads! ))

[Without missing a beat:]

Oh, my parents traded eggs with another breeder. I didn't know what exactly was going to hatch out of it until it happened.

But the older you get, the more you learn how to recognize the different types of eggs.

[Since her profile does say she's a Pokemon breeder...]
tenimuho: (will run out in a few years)

So you've been friends with her since she was born. That sounds nice.

[Pokemom also moms Pokemon.]
heartswapped: (and all i see is birds migrate)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-08-30 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, my family's been breeding Pokemon for years.
tenimuho: (will run out in a few years)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-08-30 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
For sale?

[Like animal breeders.]
heartswapped: (when you fly above the sea)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-08-30 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[She gives a small nod.]

I guess it's the same in your world. You can just catch Pokemon out in the wild; most people do, but if you want rarer species or better genes, you'd have to be willing to go the extra mile.
tenimuho: (so hold me tightly)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-08-30 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
...That's not the same, actually. If you just caught an animal off the street it would probably bite you, and it would be very difficult to keep as a pet if not impossible.
heartswapped: (the lamp stands in a gentle glow)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-08-31 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Wait.

Are you freaking serious?

[HUMANS IN YOUR WORLD ARE WEAK AND WILL NOT SURVIVE THE WINTER.]
tenimuho: (so it ends no clarity)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-08-31 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes...? Most animals aren't domesticated and can't be trained.
heartswapped: (my bloodstream chokes)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-08-31 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you guys just aren't trying hard enough.
tenimuho: (so it ends too easily)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-08-31 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
...I feel like I should be offended on other people's behalf.
heartswapped: (and all i see is birds migrate)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-01 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
What? It's a legit question.

[With all the innocence of a newborn Deerling, this one.]
tenimuho: (I get the feeling I'm truly living)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-01 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
In my world, animals have to be bred for generations for the right traits before they're trainable. If you just find an animal out of the wild, the odds are that it's never going to obey you.
heartswapped: (autumn dies serene and slow)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-04 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Your world sounds...disappointing.
tenimuho: (this small thing)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-04 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
That's probably true. I don't think our animals are as smart as Belle, either.
heartswapped: (not one tear i have in me)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
You mean, are they really dumb, or...
tenimuho: (I'll gracefully so)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-05 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose so. Not nearly as smart as humans.
heartswapped: (my bloodstream chokes)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
...do you have any pets, Oda?

[She's just. Idly wondering.]
tenimuho: (two of us we sleep together)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I don't. Never have, either.
heartswapped: (i'll believe then that you're dead)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's a shame. I know your animals are different, but you really seem like the kind of guy who'd make a great Pokemon trainer.

[She's imagining him as a Dark or maybe Ghost trainer.]
tenimuho: (I don't know what's wrong with us)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-05 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if I would be very good at it... But I would do my best, if that ever happened.
heartswapped: (Default)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you'd be surprised! A lot of Pokemon are pretty low-maintenance.

Then again, those are the ones who usually do things like eat dreams and such...
tenimuho: (so it ends no clarity)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-05 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Do they eat bad dreams? Those could be very useful.

[He's thinking of his kids, rather than himself.]
heartswapped: (not one tear i have in me)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but the ones I'm used to just poop the dreams they eat back out, anyway.

[Dream Mist is literally just Munna shit. That's all it is.]
tenimuho: (can die off too easy)

[personal profile] tenimuho 2017-09-05 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... I was thinking they could eat my kids' bad dreams. I'm not there overnight very often, but I'm told they wake up from nightmares more often than kids their age should.
heartswapped: (in my heart i hear it stamp)

[personal profile] heartswapped 2017-09-05 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
If it makes you feel any better, once they poop out the dreams it doesn't go back into their brains...

...but I don't know if them seeing it when they wake up is any better.

(no subject)
