[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

Someone here, obviously.

[He's absolutely got a point though. Only a few days after a murder, someone stabs a toy dog and puts everyone on edge again.]

Someone with poor taste.

Are we sure it wasn't Dudely being an ass? I wouldn't put it past him to be that petty and gross.

Doesn't seem like the sort of evidence he'd leave behind. Remember when he stabbed Shirou?

[That weapon was not like the one used to stab the plushie.]

[Soma winces and, for maybe a fraction of a second, the gray of his eyes flicker golden.]

... yeah. But nothing he does makes sense, outside of "what can I do to freak everybody out?" Maybe the weapon belongs to someone.

[empathiser]

[That was... different.]

Maybe. There have been a lot of items here that have meaning to some of us. I wonder who it could belong to...

[Hey he doesn't even realize he's doing it. He'll be as surprised as anyone if he finds out.]

I guess we can ask around. Hopefully the owner won't assume we're accusing them of doing this, though.

I wouldn't stab a toy version of my dog, that's just morbid.

I wouldn't stab a plushie, period. It's a step closer to killing real animals, and that's... ugh.

[He shudders. He really likes animals, so he just creeped himself out.]

Like pulling the wings off flies. Which doesn't speak much for the level of empathy this person has.

I'm starting to see why you're so reluctant to trust anybody here. There are some pretty obviously vicious types, but when you worry that even the seemingly nice ones are hiding something....

[empathiser]

Everyone hides things, even the nice ones. The difference is whether or not they do anything with what they're hiding, or whether they're actively suppressing something.

[power_of_dominance]

Yeah, that's... yeah....

[Soma takes a deep breath.]

Wicked impulses aren't the problem, acting on them is. Everyone has bad thoughts, but stopping ourselves from making them reality is where the line is drawn.

[empathiser]

... Yeah.

Tolerating the worst parts of yourself, instead of embracing them.

It's not always easy. I'm trying my best to deal, but I know right now this situation is starting to feel desperate for a lot of us. How much would you bet that something else happens this weekend?

[empathiser]

A lot. I think all of us would, so the returns would suck.
The more desperate you get, the more reckless your actions become.

[power_of_dominance]

And the more reckless you get, the more mistakes you make and the more desperate you become. It's a fast-running downward spiral.

... god, I think I just depressed myself a little. Ugh.

[empathiser]

Well, we're not exactly in a situation that reeks of positivity.

[power_of_dominance]

At least they're not drugging us with happy pills or anything. Though maybe that would stop people from dying.

[empathiser]

Probably not. Overdoses are dangerous, and if people react poorly to a regular dose of medication they could end up dying anyway.
