[Four people dead now - six, if you include the crew. Things have been a little rough on the Starfield Penitentiary this week. Blaze Dudely doesn't make a public reappearance during the weekend, so you've got a few days to yourselves to recover, though he's probably still sticking to his office hours if you really feel like going to see him. On Sunday morning, you may find that you're recovering a a few other things as well - both strange dreams and some new items.

In addition, there's a new set of doors at the end of the corridor, by that empty space where you'd been having your fight club. Looks like you've got a new wing to explore.]

According to the profiles--[She glances at her one, unarmored wrist.]--I am eight years your senior. It was about age fourteen when I decided that the path of combat was the best one for me.

I always thought that was the kind of thing you had to dedicate your life to when you were a little kid, though. I guess it's less about the when and more about the how much, though, huh?

It depends on how much you dedicate yourself. The younger the better.

...But I guess if you start and just work at it with all you've got, it doesn't matter as much...

So I guess even someone like me could get at least a little good.

If you had enough drive to do it, yes. The question you'd have to ask then: what is your reason for doing so?

...yeah. I dunno, really. Maybe wanting to pull my own weight? I mean, I'm used to pulling my own weight back home...

Is it because your background is different than those here?

Well, yeah. It's not like everyone here is a fighter, though, but... I mean, I did have some weird dreams.

...well, I mean, I guess it makes sense, given how stressed we all were. Maybe it's kind of like fevers.

Fevers.

I mean, have you ever had a fever and had really weird dreams...?

I have but... Mm, no. I don't think it was like that. It was too real.

[andneversaydie]

...I guess it felt real, but I don't really see how any of that could actually happen. It was just too crazy.

Indeed. It's all rather hard to understand, isn't it?

Yeah... I really miss just being back home. Things were a heck of a lot simpler there, you know?

The past always seems simpler in hindsight.

I guess it does, yeah. Simpler and less violent and confusing.

Except it's a lie. We only think it was less violent and simpler.

...no? Like, nobody murdered each other back in the village. The most violence we had was when Ichiro hit Tanaka over the head with a chair when they were drunk.
