[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.

[A sad nod. However, he gestures to a pan of yellowish bread.] I believe you mentioned not having tasted cornbread before. I've received enough to share, I'd hope.

[She'll see if she can find a smaller piece, because she doesn't want to eat all of John's favorite food, and nibble on it a bit.]

...hm. You know, this is pretty good.

It works well as a side to many a dish as well. [Just not with the super-spicy curry.]

Yeah, I will have to see if I can look into finding some of this stuff back home. Maybe I can see what else I can do with it...

Yeah. Though, all the time stuff and space stuff made this all kinda complicated, I think...

...heheheh, you're right. And I'll definitely have to figure out what weird alien crops might stand a chance of growing back home. I bet I could make the big bucks doing that.

It's true they don't taste half bad. Perhaps we'll find whoever raises those crops before leaving this place.

Gosh, I hope so. Or at least where they get their shipments from. That'd definitely be swell.

Even figuring out how to get the seeds out right would be good, though.

Do you think they'd provide us raw ingredients?

Well, I'm sure Fort was working with them.

Aw, heck, I was getting myself into a good mood and now I'm sad again.

[He nods quietly and pats her on the shoulder.] I knew little of him, but I do wish he was still here.

Yeah. I mean... we all only knew the guy for a week, but still. That doesn't make it easy.

He certainly showed himself much more noble than our counselor.

That he did. I guess I do... kind of appreciate that he apparently kept the captain from killing us all immediately, but that doesn't fully make up for trying to ditch us.

[He nods.] He should have had a responsibility for us. Even wardens get in trouble if their prisoners are harmed.

...right, that's how it should work. I wonder what he was even thinking there.

I suppose he may have been forced into that position, and was glad to take any chance to be rid of it.

I guess... but I don't know. Isn't his job supposed to be about helping people? I mean, that's kind of the way he made it sound.

The cities are full of people with jobs they've no true interest in.
