[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.

Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]

I could just as easily a-flip that and ask if such strong spice's a Japanese thing. [American spices really are mild, though.]

That's fair, but I know at least one of my Japanese friends doesn't like it that spicy either.

[...so he should really have been more prepared that other people wouldn't like it.]

When you say, "at least"... [That's a very vague phrasing, Oda.]

Not counting my kids, I have three friends. One is fine with this level of spice, one doesn't like it, and I don't know about the third one.

[He doesn't know all that much about Ango, truth be told.]

[Well, that's kind of sad. Still, that was so spicy he could barely taste anything.] I hope you've recipes with less spice for that friend of yours.

Usually, my friend who doesn't like spice is the one to cook for us, so that's not a problem.

[Dazai's just bad at cooking in general. It's a completely different problem.]

[He actually chuckles at that.] A fine solution to his trouble.

That might be why he cooks so much. I just thought it was because he enjoyed it. ...Ango says I should stop encouraging him.

[Ridicule people more.]

[Oh. John knows of people who possess enthusiasm but not skill. It sounds a bit like this man is one of them.] You and your friends often share meals? [He's also noticed that apparently this is the case.]

Not very often, but sometimes when we all have the time, Dazai wants to try out a new recipe on us.

And you're always supportive of him? Even if he's a-trying something really new? [Still, John sounds like he approves somewhat. That is a pretty nice thing to do, after all.]

I give him my honest opinion. But I've never told him to stop, or anything like that.

And your other friend has asked so?

[tenimuho]

He did refuse to try Dazai's new hotpot recipe. Maybe it was troublesome for him the last time he ate Dazai's cooking and lost all his energy for a few days.

I had to call in sick until I felt well enough to go to work again, but the taste wasn't that bad.

I'm quite certain most foods aren't meant to do that to you. [You're supposed to get energy from eating!]

He said it would lift our spirits instantly, and it did. It just had a crash afterwards.

[It still did what it was supposed to.]

...did he add any...unusual ingredients to his meal? [Because now it's sounding like you were drugged.]

[tenimuho]

He wouldn't tell us what he put in there, even when we asked him.

[why would dazai do that to them they're friends]

[He just...stares. That sounds so sketchy you don't even know.]

...Is something wrong?

[Dazai is sketchy as hell, for sure, but he's also Oda's friend and he trusts him.]
