week 2
[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.
Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 1 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

Everything happened all at once. Death doesn't phase Will, but the death combined with the situation and the fact they're trapped here does leave him feeling uncomfortable. That's probably the word for it.
He's wandering around the corridors for a bit, but eventually ends up stood in the doorway into the kitchen. Retracing the events and trying to see if anything stood out about the attack - other than the obvious. How the robots had acted; what had happened in the lead up to the attack; that sort of thing.
Later on, he's back in Cell 6 with the door open, sifting through a selection of items. There's a fair bit of food, so feel free to take something he's not that fussed. He does stop when he gets to the badge though, turning it over in his hands.]
Huh. So they kept a hold of you then, did they? [Interesting. Maybe they have some of his other items hiding somewhere on this spaceship.]
kitchen!
[Other than just standing here because apparently some of us here aren't up to date on crime scene analysis.]

Other people.]
... Considering.
[He's, uh. Not lying. But probably needs to elaborate.]
Seeing if there's anything we missed last night, given that we were fairly focused on the death and destruction part then.
no subject
...okay, maybe a couple seconds.]
Right, you're the investigator.
[The FBI one. Whatever that is!]
So have you found anything?
no subject
[Lucky them, huh?
Will rubs a hand under his eyes and sighs.]
It's not like I'm looking for evidence of how anyone died, more... how any of this happened. [Is there anything to suggest this might not have been a coincidence? Was this a set up? It's a stretch but if there's something, or anything it might help.]
no subject
[At least that's what it looked like to him.]
Normally, I'd think it would be some small comfort to know that even in the future, some things remain the same, but I can't say piracy is something I find comforting.
[It's not even supposed to be a thing anymore. He's not happy to see that it makes a comeback at some point.]
no subject
But why?
[ Maybe he's overthinking it. He probably is, but... it bugs him. ]
Whatever this is, a lot of time and money went into it - requisitioning this place, making it suitable for a smaller scale rehabilitation program, finding and capturing us. If I went through all that just to have it stolen by pirates -- [ AND HE STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HE HAS TO SAY THAT. PIRATES. What the hell. ]-- I'd be annoyed.

Oh, I remember.
But... [ and he can't believe he's throwing Price a lifeline here. ] maybe he's been kept fairly in the dark. They did vanish to ages to "negotiate" that parley. And we don't know what was said.
[ Or what Price was told of. ]

cell 6
Ah, I didn't bother you, did I? [ He's just curious as to why the door was open. ]

[Other than sifting through a pile of stuff on the floor in front of him. Do you want any food, Shirou? He's got like. Three lots of sweets, alone.]

[He motions at the candle on the ground as well.]
That. It smells like mown grass, so if we start to miss the outdoors...

[Having missed nearly a week of investigating and, of course, snooping, Varric was back at it in full-force. Being all together not far from Varric's own room made Will a perfect target.]
Looks like a story to me. Care to tell it?
no subject
[It's nothing to hide, really. He holds out the badge - it has a picture of him on the front, fairly recent looking, and his name.]
But it does make me wonder what else of mine they might be keeping a hold of.
no subject
Let me put it this way -- there's a lot on there that a person like me just doesn't understand. [Varric shrugged though -- he wouldn't press Will if he wasn't interested in talking about it.]
We can only hope they have some of our stuff. I'd like to see my books again. Or Bianca.
no subject
[He... well. He'd been in hospital for a while. Was he even semi-officially employed by them anymore after what had happened?]
Bianca? You think they've kept a person to one side?
no subject
[Will didn't seem like a Templar, though. Not enough haughty, religious arrogance.]
No, no, nothing like that. [Varric let out a laugh. Had Will been talking to Noctis? Imagine if that rumor got around.]
She's my crossbow. A weapon. It'd be nice to have something to defend myself with is all.
no subject
A templar? Like the Catholic Military order of Knight Templars?
[What.]
... You named your crossbow Bianca.
[... well. Okay then Varric. You do you.]
no subject
No, the Chantry's Templars. The army that protects us from magic and mages? [So... basically yeah, the Catholic military.]
Most good weapons have names. Why do you look so surprised?
no subject
Ah. No such thing as magic or mages where I'm from. Are they related to religion, at all? Those Templars of yours.
I can't speak for everyone, but I never named my FBI-issued pistol. Do you take better care of it if you do?
