[With the sudden pirate takeover and the sudden, tragic deaths of the crew, the second week of the Starfield Penitentiary rehabilitation project is off to a rough start. After Price's call for parlay with the pirate captain, he was not seen for the remainder of Saturday but around 10 pm it is his calm but tense voice that makes the time announcement.

Buckle in, Champions, things are about to get bumpy.]

It will suffice. [Is that a quirk of lips?] This place, overall, has far superior food than my previous cell.

[Oda also has a fork/knife/napkin set, seeing as those probably weren't laying around Akande's cell. He sets those down on Akande's desk.]

I would like to as soon as I can, but not at everyone else's expense. They wouldn't forgive me for that, I'm sure.

They know at least a little. But I'm trying to become a better person than I was before. I don't think killing twentysome innocent people would go over well with them. And I wouldn't want to, either.

[Oda looks at the wall rather than at at Akande.]

...I can't speak for anyone else, or judge them on what they decided to do. I can only say that before I decided to stop killing, there wasn't anything meaningful in my life.

[There's a few moments in which there is silence. Akande fills it by simply eating, considering his next words. Especially to someone he has a shred of respect for.]

Then I am glad you found a reason.

I will agree that killing in itself is necessarily a good purpose. That is madness - much like this so-called 'rule seven'.

Before the war, I was a professional fighter. I still remember the crowds. [and boy, are these fond memories - that's an honest, warm smile that flickers on his face there for a few moments] But there was a point to that, a contest of strength and skill - we fought for an audience who could truly appreciate our might.

So fighting for amusement?...yes. But we were anything but puppets. [it wasn't 'professional' wrestling, for crying out loud] I cannot say I have not already considered how best to defeat all of those here...but I also cannot say I am particularly inclined to do so.

[roundabout way of stating the obvious. he's not gonna try and deceive Oda, and he figures that this is a way to gain a bit more of the man's regard. yes, he thinks he could kill just about any one of his fellow inmates.]

[Honesty is something Oda appreciates, both in others and in his own behavior.]

Did you choose to be a professional fighter? That's different from this situation. The audience here wouldn't be appreciating your strength - he's only appreciating how he can turn people against each other or drive them to desperation.

[It's nothing like Akande's performances. Those would have been a sight to see, Oda's sure.]

I did. [He's nodding in agreement to Oda's words, as well.] Only circumstances forced me out of it. And none of them were to the death.

I don't expect to live that long - I can't see myself as an old man with wrinkles. But at the least, I would like for the people I know to know what happened to me.
