Week 2
[Other than the reappearance of the Overseer, there's no real change in the routine. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.
No other floors unlock, but Cece and Kip will still be appearing randomly to chit-chat.
All you know is... something has to change soon.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 1 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

Worse than I probably look. More like I didn't survive than I did. ...I assume it was worth it, though.
[He takes a long, refreshing swig of this bottle before he even opens his eyes. Yuuri, you missed a fabulous chance to commit a murder, here.]
I don't remember a damn thing.

[ wherever that thing ended up being parked... ]

Oh, am I not "Wakasa-chan" anymore? [ BEAMING. ] It feels like a bit of a downgrade.
[ this is what you get for waving her undies around like a flag. this is what you get. ]
no subject
[Ahahaha, holy shit?? Some part of him quails, but he clears his throat and tries to recover his poise. He will not be bested by her terrifying sweetness.]
Well, I, uh. I could do that. Keep doing that, I mean. If, if you want me to.
no subject
[ To his credit, though, she looks a bit wrong-footed. Not in a bad way, persay, but definitely caught off guard. But her smile doesn't go anywhere. ]
... I wouldn't mind. Or, actually...
[ she pauses, just for a second. she wonders if this might come off as too forward in the wrong way given that... well, he's a guy and all. But Arianna's already using it and it's right there on her profile. ]
If you'd like, "Rii-san" is fine as well. It's actually been a little strange not hearing people call me that.
no subject
He's taken aback by how forward this would be, of course--she's usually so Japanese; but more than that, he's surprised that he's invited into that circle of status. Friend.]
Oh. Uh. Are you sure?
[But lest she feel awkward, he hurries to agree:]
Then, all right... Rii-san. [He clears his throat.] I--I know I'm older than you, but you can call me just Junpei if you want. I've been living in America, so I'm used to going by first names pretty often.
no subject
Junpei it is, then.
[ A mutual upgrade in friendliness. How nice.
There's a pause, in which she realizes she should probably say something so they're not just standing here in silence, basking in the glow of mutual first name basis, but she sort of stumbles with it on the way out. ]
So, um-- would you like something to breakfast-- no I mean-- something to eat for breakfast -- if your stomach's up to it? I'm going to be making something for myself, so...
[ SM... OOTH... ]
no subject
Sure, I'll take something to breakfast.
[Oh, he can tease without being a total ass. He still looks significantly less than a million bucks after his whiskey binge, but the charmed amusement comes through.]
Probably just toast, but this isn't my first trip down Hangover Avenue. If I can get something bland down, it'll help.
[After a pause, he raises the soda to her.]
And thanks. For this.
no subject
Oh, if you're not careful I'll leave you and your hangover to fend for yourselves.
[ ... of course, she says this, but then she starts rooting around in the fridge herself to start getting her food out. Looks like something eggy...? ]
I've been having okayu most mornings -- how does that sound? With a bit of egg and maybe some miso mixed in. Do you think it might settle your stomach a bit?
no subject
[He trails off, then laughs softly, a little wistfully to himself.]
I think it's been years. Okayu sounds like just the thing, Rii-san. Should I make tea?
no subject
[ she's already washed a bit for herself but since Junpei's going to be eating as well, she'll go ahead and start washing some more. ]
Any tea you'd like is fine, by the way! I'm not very picky.
no subject
[Time to put some water in the kettle.]
no subject
It really wouldn't! I'm counting myself lucky we've got some, though. With the... theme going on, I wasn't really expecting us to be able to make the basics like this.
[ are you saying this ISN'T up to par with a romantic candle lit dinner for two, yuuri? unbelievable. ]
no subject
[The prepared kettle goes on the stove, and Junpei finds himself without much to do.]
...What else can I help with?
no subject
[ It's a pretty simple veggie stock made simpler by the fact that there's stock cubes in the cupboard -- no expense spared on the Fantasy Sweet, apparently.
She starts busying herself with getting water and pans and stock together as she says all this. She's been mostly cooking breakfast by herself since they all got here but having someone to chat with while she does it reminds her of home. It's nice. ]
no subject
[He even, once he finds the green onions, rinses and dries them before he starts to chop, like someone who is not a feral internet child raised on a space meteor. Imagine.]
...This, uh. This is kind of nice. Making breakfast together with someone for once.
[He doesn't turn from his work as he speaks.]
no subject
... It is. It's usually just me doing the cooking at home so this is a nice change.
[ If she could have Kurumi and Yuki here, sat at the table and chattering about everything and nothing... then she'd take it in a heartbeat.
But this might not be so bad either. Not by a long shot. ]
SLAMS THIS IN FOR MONOCOIN
[His chopped onions come out slightly coarse, but not in an unappealing or inedible way. If anyone even notices, it'll be more a reminder that this breakfast is homemade.]
So you do most of the cooking for your club, I guess? The three of you at school.
L O O T
[ And Yuki's always a very enthusiastic eater. ]
Do you cook much back home, then?
no subject
[He brings the cutting board with the green onions over to her.]
I, uh, end up eating packaged stuff a lot, and cheap take-out... Sometimes I'll make a dinner out of what I can get out of the closest vending machine.
[Mmm. Depression meals. Yum.]
no subject
Oh, that's not so bad -- in fact, don't tell anyone, but...
[ she leans in and cups a hand to her mouth, dropping her voice into a kind of whisper that implies a shameful confession ]
Whenever I make spaghetti at home, the sauce is always from a packet.
[ S C A N D A L O U S ]
no subject
...Hahaha!
[They're trapped, he's hungover as hell, and Junpei still pops a mock-challenging grin and lowers his voice to respond:]
When I do spaghetti, I don't even make sauce.
no subject
Then what do you eat with your spaghetti? Don't tell me you just eat it by itself?
[ you brute ]
no subject
[JUNPEI, STOP, YOU HAVE BACHELORED TOO FAR.]
