Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

Actually, medical advances have made it possible that in the next few years that men will be able to carry children. It's a type of fake uterus. I'm still trying to figure out, though, how the birthing process would work. Your friend sounds... maybe he was impregnated by a type of parasite?

I wouldn't cook with it if it wasn't safe to drink. It just tastes awful straight up.

Could you flavor it somehow though? Like...add a syrup to it. A concentrate. Something. To make it drinkable flavor-wise?

Syrup would work. Watering it down a little, adding the syrup then to bring the sweetness back that the water cut out in trying to get rid of some acdity, and maybe some fruit slices. Let it sit for the fruit to really settle their flavor and make like a compote... Ooooh or what if I make it into a reduction along with fruit and make it into a syrup like sauce, you can serve that over ice cream? Or braise beef in it... Dammit, Church, I want to do all of these things now.

You're welcome. [He has no idea anything about cooking, as he's demonstrated in these conversations and as he'll demonstrate Saturday, but damn that all sounds good.] They must have a couple bottles of the stuff, or restock it when it's low. You should totally do all of this stuff.

Oh, I will. Definitely. I haven't made a reduction into a dessert sauce since my mom showed me how a few years ago. White wine caramel sauce over chocolate ice cream? The best thing ever. Well. Would be if there was peanut butter in it. Anyways. I will make all of this stuff as long as there's ingredients.

... Honestly? I have no idea what my mom does for a living. She... I love my mom, a lot, but she's kind of a terrifying woman. Like... Not the hit your kids variety mad, but a "well I fucked up let me go jump on front of a train to make her happy" mad. When she stops yelling and gets really quiet, and then smiles? She's gotta have a job that forces her to do that a lot. That's when you know you're dead to her.
