Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

That's so exciting! [Morgana's grace you can go to different planets and you've never traveled?! Rhys whyyyyyyyy?!?]

What do you do? Somethin important? [If it keeps him from traveling it must be.]

Traveling's pretty cool, yeah, but working for a major corporation-- [ he emphasizes those two words with a very important tone ] --is pre-tty exciting, too.

Right now I'm just a middle manager, but I've got important stuff lined up. In-- in the future, anyway.

You're a business man, honey? [She beams at him, completely earnestly charmed by the fact that he's some sort of manager.]

That sounds great! I'm just a secretary and for a whole department at that. Gosh it'd be great to get a gig just... workin for the big cheese at some fancy company. [Or for one of the directors.]

Yeah, that's right. I have for a while now, since I got out of college. It's a pretty big deal, working my way up the way I have.

[ Deflate your head a little, Rhys. But, anyway, he's starting to really like Queenie. She listens to him and doesn't make fun of him! ]

Hey, that's still a good job, right? Don't sell yourself short.

Yeah? You went to college!? [Well now she's even more impressed 'cause golly only really swanky people go to college.]

Naw, I like my job. I just ain't out there changing the world. Gonna leave that to my sister.

Yep, I sure did. That's how I really got into hacking, and how I became pretty much one of the best at it.

[ He nods, though. ]

So, I mean, as long as you're happy, it's good.

[ Like... he can't imagine not being Super Influential, but Queenie seems to be content with it. ]

[It's one of her flaws, she doesn't have an ambitious bone in her body.]

Yeah. I like what I do. Sounds like you got all sorts of big plans though.

Hope all of this doesn't ball it up for you.

[ Luckily, Rhys is ambitious enough for both of them. It works out. ]

Huge plans. Like, massive ones. [ A grin. Boy, does he sound proud. ] If it does, I'm just gonna have to work a little harder. That's all.

[ "Work"--meaning blackmail, maybe some money changing hands... ]

Always gotta follow your dreams, right?

[She's legitimately so happy for him having goals and all that jazz. She's best at supporting people to their goals, yes.]

Yeah. Gotta make sure they become reality.

[ Aw, he really likes Queenie already! ]

But, uh, gotta be honest... I didn't think I'd be talking about stuff like dreams here. In-- in a place like this.

Just... think of it as a change of scenery? Tryin to look on the bright side here and there's no reason to think you won't be able to keep doin what you wanna do as soon as we get outta here.

[She likes you too, Rhys. Though, to be fair, Queenie likes most people. Especially handsome fellas.]
