[The Spitter account has been quiet for a few weeks, after the cameras were removed from the Temerity. The password was changed so that the crew of the Temerity couldn't get into the official account, but there was nothing stopping them from making their own.

Whether they have their own account or just scroll through it in their free time, however, #Airlocked! has been trending all week on social media and it all comes from the Airtalked spitter account which has been spitting vague words all week.

Today, there's a new spit on the account, along with a respit of a thread from what looks like a highly popular fan spitter:]

I could claim it as a prop but... what fan could make something that close? Perhaps letting it stay here would be best.

No, keep it. It has been some time since I've had to use fisticuffs, but I'm not completely rusty.

If it gets to that point we will handle it on the fly. I would feel more secure knowing you are well armed.

...Alright. [A firm nod. Honestly, she's never actually known a world where not being armed at all times was normal.] Thank you.

[If it was up to him they'd be safe enough for Jane to never need to be armed again. But for now it's a good thing they are both so used to it.

...plus, while he knows Lightning isn't actually dead, part of him feels more at ease knowing Jane has her weapon. Like the older woman would be able to lend some of her skill to her]

[It's sort of become a very strange security item for her. Knowing it's with her makes her feel safe, like she's not alone, even if everyone else is asleep and it's just her and space and maybe the Spitter account.]

I certainly don't want to be in the business of hurting people...so I hope so, too.

It's been a long time. But I learnt how to use a naginata when I was young.

It's similar to a spear or polearm. Hoshidan warriors use them.

Do we have anything that would service but not be too obvious? A staff perhaps?

That's a good idea. I don't know if we have one on the ship, but all we need is to raid servant quarters and steal one once we are planetside.

It's a type of polearm. A lot of it was for ceremonial purposes...

Oh! Okay, I see. Hm...gosh, maybe you could learn to use my trident, if you remember enough about it. I mean, that's for the future if we all really need to fight something, but for now it's just a thought.

I don't know. The end looks a little too...Grippy. I'm looking for something that wouldn't get stuck.

You mean the sphere on the end? It's actually a nice counterweight once you get used to it.

The prongs. Having a counterweight is good, but if the prongs get stuck it's of little use for what we'll need.
