Week 6

Week 6

[It's been six weeks and with Ricky, Kurumi, and Lightning all dead, the group that was initially 20 strong has dwindled down to only seven. Thirteen Champions have died in about a month and a half, and even the Overseers are beginning to crack. How many more will follow before this cruel experiment ends?

And again at 7 am the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call there is no new floor announcement this week.

And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday

[ooc: welcome to week 6, everyone! Check-in has begun and don't forget to submit your memory regains!]

[It's actually still pretty early in the morning, but, yeah...also she could find a way that didn't involve spoons or forks. Or cakes. Don't put it past her.]

...Good morning, Doctor.

[Just making sure that door is shut tight before we burn up all the red.]

You were right to be confused about Crockercorp when we first met. I...I only wish I had known to be properly suspicious before it was too late.

[Well it's not the middle of the night, anyway.]

So that tech they were developing was a little more than just instant-messaging, I take it.

...It hacked into my brain. Easily.

[She sounds very bitter when she says it.]

[There's a sharp, hissing intake of breath at that. He'd thought the difference in timelines was weird, but not necessarily malevolent. And not straight-up Cyberman malevolent.]

I'm sorry.

[And still a little confused, because BETTY CROCKER, WHAT.]

No one should have to deal with that, especially not someone like you.

[Doctor you might want to sit down for this.]

It's...not your fault. That old witch would have found some way to get what she wanted even if my head hadn't been wide open for the taking. I just wish I'd have believed my friends sooner when they told me Betty Crocker was an evil alien empress - I might have destroyed all of my red sooner.

...Okay. Bit more than cake mixes, yeah.

[He's seen a LOT of plots to take over the world in his time, but a baking corporation? That's. That's new.]

Well. If it helps at all, that's not something I'd believe right away either

Just...just a bit, yeah.

[So at least she's not insane for doubting it for years.]

Ugh...if Dirk or Roxy were here, they could explain it better. They lived in my world's future, so they could look back on all that happened.

That tends to be an advantage, yeah-

[Um.]

...Lived in your future, but came back to your time?

...Sburb has a lot of loopholes and literal wormholes in time and space involved in actually setting up all the dominoes so that the players can knock them over in the right pattern. Everything's, for lack of a better word, a clusterfuck.

Good way to describe it, that kind of thing can be dangerous. Impressive, if it were all stable somehow, but dangerous. And not just in the way that whole Sburb thing sounds otherwise.

It was apparently stable enough to determine we weren't cut out for the job of winning the game on our own. But...gosh, I don't know anything about stability. I really don't.
