We-- well, Touko Lucis Caelum would rather not. I made a promise I wouldn't kill anyone else-- wouldn't add to the count on my leg, and it's gotten me this far.

...But if they attack my family, she and I can both agree that they've forfeited any mercy I could have shown them.

My reasons for holding onto that promise are... entirely selfish. If I become a killer again-- even if I wanted to, I'd probably have no place to return to. That was my condition for being able to stay with the Future Foundation-- with Byakuya.

...but even if that's true, I've already decided that I don't care. I'm going to do what I have to in order to help protect everyone. So... when we get our chance-- and we will... I'm with you, all the way.

...a while back, Ardyn said he wouldn't mind if I spent time with the both of you. But he said he didn't even know where he'd go, just... wherever you went. And he told me I needed to get your permission.

I don't know exactly what's going to happen or where I'll end up but... I didn't have a home before. And the only way I can lose it-- is if I don't protect it now. I'd never be able to forgive myself if I didn't fight now when it really matters.

Of course you can spend time with us. I'm pretty sure the plan is go wherever Junpei and Yuuri go, so, somewhere in Japan, and he wants to raise his stupid mutant rideable ostriches, but wherever we go, you've got an open invitation. You and your dad.

Now, you're a big girl, and so are the other girls, you're all smart, and fucking brilliant, and independent, and sometimes stubborn assholes. So I'm not gonna treat you guys like soldiers, jump when I say jump. I just want everyone to keep in touch, and...follow Xander's lead.

I don't always agree with him. In fact, I usually don't. Violently don't. But he's been right...a lot of the time. And I haven't. He trusts me, and I'm glad he does, but I'm just saying, it's probably gonna be way safer to follow his lead than mine.

Don't worry. I might do things on my own sometimes, but I don't mind following orders. As long as the person I'm listening to is worthy. Xander-- whether he realizes it or not, he's not such a bad person to rely on.

He's got his shortcomings, big time, but when the chips are down, he knows what he's doing, or he at least fakes it really well. Except when he decides to put alien brain slugs in his head. What the shit.

And I mean, I'm used to leading a team, but also, I'm used to my team being a bunch of morons, and things always got out of hand, so who knows if I'm even any good at it aside from sometimes yelling at everyone until the smart people figure out murders. At least he's royalty. The royals all seem to have their shit together.
