We knew we were walking into a trap, but we didn't know to what extent. We didn't have any plan to counter them except for relying on luck.

We won't do that again. We have leads now. Last time, they grabbed for every last thread we could have. They didn't need to kidnap Jaycee-san and force him to sell us out. They already knew where we were. That indicates that they were just making sure to cover all their bases, and that falls in line with how they were acting until recently: taking anything that gave us hope and corrupting it. But now they're getting overconfident.

...Right. They could've - they could've just burst into Mister Ein's house to take us whenever they wanted, couldn't they? But they didn't, they...they had to get us to crack!

Which means either they wanted to cover every base they could just in case, since we'd escaped them before, or it's a point to the theory that they needed more suffering.

But what could that do? Drive up - eugh - ratings?

I don't think it's just about ratings, Jane-chan. I think Airlocked! might be a means to an end.

But what sort of end could come from a bunch of broken people...?

I hope this theory is wrong, but you remember Sajou Manaka from season one, right? The one who tortured someone to death because her power runs off of other people's pain?

...So...you think that by hurting people again and again, it's like...generating some kind of power for someone?

It's possible. We don't have full confirmation yet, of course, but why would they go through all this effort just for entertainment? Even if the show's making boatloads of money, the resources they're spending to keep it up have to be ridiculous.

Then...geez. Whatever the true reason is, we can't let it stay a mystery. Not anymore.
