[Come week 3 of the Champion Excellence Program the high-flying feelings that came with the dodgeball game last week has dissipated, especially after the...everything that was that trial. Satan Mask sure was a thing that happened.

Just like last week, right on the dot at 7 am, the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call though there's a new message tacked on:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

[Champion of Detachment...that was...

Jane may not be close to the other girl, but the memory of her enthusiasm for passing her MCATs is very potent. She scrambles to the diner, footsteps heavy, and skids to a stop in front of the door, panting for breath and staring. Staring hard.]

What...what happened...?

[What happens when you try to take the PIP off...?]

Hey, hey. [Jamie quickly steps forward, as away from the body as he can get, to block Jane's line of sight.] You don't...you really don't need to see this.

[She stands firm. Just because Jamie is the good cop in this place doesn't mean she's going to back down.]

Why? What happened to her?

[theoverseers]

She broke rule 5, about tampering with her PIP. [There's genuine remorse in his voice and the way he's doing his best not to look at the body.] It electrocuted her.

[Jane's jaw drops, and the weight of her own PIP becomes a very conscious thing.] That's - but...but...!

[She wants to ask "how" - it's a reflex for her - but if they went through the trouble to cover Sadie's body with a sheet...does she really want to know? Does she?

Her own eyes find themselves lingering on Jamie's PIP, and Jane shivers.]

As long as you don't... [He brings a half-curled fist to his mouth, trying to find the right words of warning. His dominant hand wanders to self-consciously touch his PIP.] Mess with it like she did, trying to pry it off, you'll be fine.

There really is so much left unanswered right now, but this isn't the time or place to ask the questions forming in her head.]

...Is it...is it that deeply attached?

[theoverseers]

[His dominant hand flexes, curling loosely around his PIP before releasing it. If Jane is paying attention she might notice his hand trembling slightly.]

...Yeah. They're in deep.

[Please take his word for it, Jane.]

[...She will. From that tone alone, pressing further would be a terrible idea. Her own dominant arm tingles uncomfortably.]
