[Well that weekend sucked. The Champions are down a dad and a bean and shrinking their numbers smaller and smaller, less and less.

There's no sign of life in the spaceport aside from PAL's omnipresent voice and SIS, the helpful asSIStant who has some control over certain heres and theres in the spaceport. She (and PAL) are available at all times and can appear anywhere if called. There is, however, a new floor to explore. Just hop in the elevator and pchoo.]

It's definitely her! She didn't look like a fucking banshee, but she didn't smile with teeth. But that's 100% her. I remember her.

...I guess if anyone would be able to return a memory to you, it would have to be an Overseer. And it would explain how they could get to you and disappear before anyone else saw them.

But why was she here? Or...there, I guess. She's not part of this group. Not that any of us have seen.

Well... it's just a theory, but if she's still around, and has the same kind of abilities as Xander did... does that mean she's our Overseer too?

Then that's fucking cheating for not telling us about another Overseer. Not that anything's fair around here.

Exactly. Nothing about any of this has been fair.

But I guess it could mean that she just works for the same people Xander did. But then why would she choose to appear at all. [squints] And just to give you something nice.

Well I...was a favorite of...someone she knows or knew? And I asked nicely. Cuz I'm a real nice guy.

When you say 'favorite'... You mean with Price, don't you? He... seemed to know you when he first showed up.

No, this chick specifically said 'her'. That I was always one of her favorites. Some unspecified 'her'.

I'm definitely not Price's favorite any fucking thing. Experiment, maybe.

Oh. Well, I guess that just leaves us with more questions.

CT. Connecticut. An agent of Project Freelancer. [Whoever Varric was, she was important to him. His notes at least say that much.]

Y-yes, that's right.... Or, well, whatever Project Freelancer is. It seemed like she didn't like Price anymore than you do.

It was a military project ostensibly to end the alien war, one of several desperate attempts to find a solution once and for all. Freelancer experimented with AI and armor technology. The Director, as far as I can tell, was obsessive and unscrupulous, and I think Price just wanted to dick around with other people like they were the experiments.

Well he... came to the right place for that then. I shouldn't be surprised that he was involved in something like that, and then Xander's employers found him for this.

I get the impression he was subtle about it, but I know they did psychological experiments. I get having a head shrink around--they were pushing people to and beyond their limits, and shoving untested AI in their heads. Had to match up personalities and qualities and shit. And keep everyone going, sanely. But then do shit like pit a brother and sister against each other, giving preferred treatment to one and not the other. Just to see what would happen.
