[Well that weekend sucked. The Champions are down a dad and a bean and shrinking their numbers smaller and smaller, less and less.

There's no sign of life in the spaceport aside from PAL's omnipresent voice and SIS, the helpful asSIStant who has some control over certain heres and theres in the spaceport. She (and PAL) are available at all times and can appear anywhere if called. There is, however, a new floor to explore. Just hop in the elevator and pchoo.]

SIS... do you know why stuffed animals make people feel better?

...No. I've just seen how happy they can make people when they are upset.





And they made Ardyn happy.

[He sits up carefully, picking up one of the toys]

I can see why. Ardyn... is a very lonely man. That's why they help. Humans and other living things need to touch each other. When they can't sometimes they befriend animals to do the same. And stuffed things are something they can hold and touch when they are alone. It's something a child can hold when they're scared. Being covered and warm is like being held. It's... it's something a lot of us here are not used to.

[She listens as she usually does, quietly and with intense concentration. She picks up one of the stuffed animals and just...hold it against her chest, not quite hugging it but almost, all the while watching Xander with an expression that's difficult to read.]

I see.

I don't know if your hardlight body can feel that or not, but I know the feelings behind your attempts are real. And that is what's important.

[SIS is still a quiet for a long minute, processing his words in his computer brain and letting them just sort of settle. She sets down the stuffed animal in his lap and, with more fluidity than with Noctis, she wraps her hardlight arms around him in a slightly odd side hug.

She's not soft and she's barely warm but, as he said, the feelings are real. And that is what's important.]
