[It's been about a week since the Champions woke up in their new consumerist hellscape of a temporary home and, despite a few odd goings on and the bomb incident with Church and Nari, things haven't been as bad as they could be. No one is even dead yet! But let's see how long that lasts.

Huh - oh, hello. It seems that they do, if you look hard enough.

[Seriously, it is all up to personal taste.]

A lot of the plainer stuff is in the clearance area. I suppose whoever was using this mall before we turned up here was trying to get that product out as soon as possible.

I suppose. Still, it's not the type of clothes I can wear.

[She's too old to wear anything shorter than ankle length, with full sleeves.]

I was talking with one of the others about that. It's strange how there are so many expensive looking items here, isn't it?

It is pretty weird. I actually feel guilty we can't pay for anything...but then again, what kind of money could we even use?

None. But with what they're asking...

Yeah, I couldn't afford to shop in a store like this normally.

[But if they took Boonbucks, though? Holy shit, she could buy the whole store.]

No, the price wouldn't normally be a problem. Though I wouldn't enter a shop like this in the first place... It's that they're giving us access to all this, when they know we can't pay them back...

...In any case. They've already proven that there isn't a lot we can do to escape by ourselves.

Right. And now we're apparently even more limited. But...there must be something that they've overlooked.

That man won't just keep letting people make escape attempts.

No, of course not, but...something else, maybe. Something different than blowing a physical hole through a wall.

There's no way we're getting passed that gate...

Maybe we can't, physically? But we could get other things out through it. Like...messages.

Someone has to receive those messages for that to work.

While that is true, the fact is that we don't know whether or not there is someone to receive the messages. If we send some out, at least we're making an attempt to reach a listener.

And if the message falls into the wrong hands?

Then it's got to be a message that isn't going to mean much from the outset. You send tests out first - nonsense, or greetings, and if they get a response, you go from there.

What if the person replying is just humouring us? For example, if Xander pretend to be someone wanting to help to get information.

...Then we'd have to really vet the things we send out and receive. There's...always risk involved with doing something like this, but even if it was him, we're not actively destroying anything - therefore, we're not breaking his rules. There's nothing against sending messages.

Provided he doesn't take advantage of rule 9, of course.

[She nods. She'll be careful - careful is her middle name!

...Have you spoken to him yet? I tried, he just kept telling me it didn't concern me.

...I have.

[And she keeps speaking to him. And keeps going to him. And it hurts every single time and she needs to stop.]

He's not exactly informative.

Not at all. I'm not sure if we'd be able to trick him either.

Now that remains to be seen! Just because someone keeps their cards close to their chest doesn't mean they don't make mistakes from time to time.
