Week 1

[After the reveal of their handsome and well-dressed but stern-looking Overseer on Sunday, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the mall to their hearts' content. At around 10 pm every night the lights in all the shops will go down and the sturdy metal grates over the doors of the restaurants will go down. The stores will remain unlocked, though.

On Monday morning, a buzzing alarm chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot. There's also a pop-up message waiting for them: a notice announcing Xander will be holding office hours

[For most of Tuesday morning, Arianna can be found mostly in Dairy Empress, making occasional trips over to Garden Fresh and coming back with fruits and nuts. To anyone who comes in, or watches her go back and forth, or basically pays any attention, it's pretty easy to figure out that she's trying to bake something.]

Oh, dear...

[...to anyone with a sense of smell, it's also pretty easy to figure out that she hasn't quite gotten the hang of the oven. Burnt turnovers for everyone! She's improving, though.


The afternoon finds Arianna in Universe. Here she's being much less productive, but... she's having a good time? Specifically, she's found a television display with a video camera connected to it for demonstration purposes, and now she's twirling around and playing with the field of view, seeing if she can get anything interesting to happen. I mean, more interesting than magic pictures of herself.


Eventually the novelty of this wears off, and she makes her way over to Moonglow to find some new clothes. If you need her, just look for the huge stack of pink by the dressing rooms.]

Dairy Empress

[Varric ambles in, at first mildly concerned at the scent of burning food. Seeing her struggling with the weird hot-box puts his mind at ease for the time being. Having given up on his own attempts at cooking, Varric was honestly a little proud of her for keeping at it.]

Think I could help? Don't much understand how all this works but... two heads are better and all that.

[After enjoying Clarith's breakfast so much, she felt guilty about not contributing anything herself. One thing she doesn't want to be is dead weight.]

By all means. It would certainly be difficult for two heads to be much worse.

[At least she's apparently not getting too frustrated?]

Or we could burn the whole place down. [He blinked.] Bad joke?

[Right, okay... Focus.] So... we probably have to... turn one of these knobs, right? Or... Is it a button?

That would likely enable us to escape, if we survived.

It seems to be a knob. Perhaps as a safeguard, so that the oven does not accidentally activate when bumped by a pot or pan.

Bet if we seal ourselves inside one of the other restaurants when it closes, we could survive the blast.

If it's a knob, we should be able to just... turn it, right? How hot do you need it to be for your... whatever those are?

Yes, that seems wise. Perhaps they should be... four hundred? Pray tell, do you know what it is that these numbers represent?

[Sweet, sweet Arianna. He gives her the kindest, most patient smile he can muster up. It surprises him when it actually comes easy.]

Shit, I didn't even know fire could be represented by numbers. [He looked a little concerned -- four hundred was a big number. But the girl seemed eager so...]

[She is trying her best.

Arianna turns it... down to 400. Wow. At least it's probably more like Farenheit than Celsius? Then she puts in a pan with a single turnover on it. No sense in wasting like eight times the ingredients before she figures out how to get it right.]

Now... I suppose we wait.

[He crosses his arms and stares at the stove.]

I am testing the cameras!

[Well, that, and playing with them. But right now she seems to be standing still, then making sudden movements, as if she's testing the camera's reaction time. Which is, in fact, exactly what she's doing.]

It's nice. And good and probably something one of her friends would do.]

Testing the security cameras then. Well I think that's a wonderful idea.

I cannot access the ones Sir Xander uses, so I tried to find a similar one. [...based entirely on appearance, but it's not like they have the specs available anyway.] Unfortunately they seem to have few weaknesses. They're quite fast.

...though that was with only one person. If it had to follow two..

[Yeah she... doesn't understand how cameras work at all.]

While Pyrrha is in mid-roll, Arianna jumps away in the opposite direction. Follow that, camera!]
