[In a tragic yet seemingly inevitable turn of fate, the Champions have lost Zombina this week. OsoKaramatsu and Korra, too, are gone, both having fallen in their attempts to help their fellow Champions out of terrible circumstances.

Again, the Champions will find themselves experiencing strange dreams on Sunday night, until they're awakened by C.E.C.E.'s announcement. This is all starting to become routine.]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your third trial, you have unlocked the fourth floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.!

[The trash compactor is completely shiny and new again. In addition, the profiles on the P.I.P.s still inticate that Karamatsu is dead. Because of course he is, right?

It wasn't that voluntary. [he continues quickly enough that kaiba doesn't have the chance to argue it] It's not your responsibility what happens to me, and someone you think is potentially a threat is gone.

I meant what I said when we had to vote Lucina down, and I meant what I said before Korra pulled her stunt.

[He smirks. It's not a friendly smirk.] But I also like to keep people on their toes.

I think you were honest about yourself so that we'd either punish you or to try and get us to trust you. Because finding out the truth on our own through other means would have been worse.

... that last part- that's right. None of the rest of it- no.

[he hadn't lied for very long about the raincoat killer, not except through omission, but he's been covering for george in one way or another since he was kaiba's age, and that's a very long time to keep a secret. if he only has to hide the truth for his own good- he really doesn't want to.]

If I'd wanted you to trust me, I'd have kept my mouth shut like I always did.

Good. Because I don't trust you, and I think if anyone here does trust you, they're a fool.

MacLaine, let me make something abundantly clear to you. I have never killed anyone with my own two hands. [was that oddly specific or just a turn of phrase] I don't plan on ever doing so. I am still convinced we can find a way out without murdering one another.

But I will if I have to.

[it is 100% the first one but this conversation with kaiba is the closest he's gotten to calling someone out without also trying to shoot them. so. he lets him go, watching with a look that's all mixed signals. this boy's used to stepping on people, but he says what he thinks.]
