[Well, it's probably a good sign that each Champion still awakes in their own bed, and not in a completely random dimension. Or a bad sign, depending on how you look at it.
Still, there doesn't seem to be much amiss on the main floor of the space station... Except for a kind of cloying smell that very faintly lingers in the air around the teleporter.
(There is no body in the cafeteria, but it is a surprise place that will help us out later.)

[And apparently neither of them can actually talk right now, because all that she manages is a quiet, incoherent sound of grief as she buries her face into Akira's shoulder.]

[Max didn't see the body. He didn't leave the first floor at all, after hearing the announcement. But this...]
Come on, let’s get your hands washed, at least.

The lingering whiff of...everything from someone certainly doesn't help. When Akira walks by, he looks up and also looks like his composure cracks a little. It's just the smell, obviously. That's all. That's all it is.]

No... You're right.

Save it for the trial.

He can barely imagine how Akira is feeling.]
Hey. [Then softer.] Hey.

[Akira is about as pale as Jamie is, honestly]

Talking is hard so instead Jamie is just going to hesitantly reach out and lay a hand on his shoulder. The poor kid looks like he could use a hug but he'll leave that up to Akira.]
