The Third Investigation
[Well, it's probably a good sign that each Champion still awakes in their own bed, and not in a completely random dimension. Or a bad sign, depending on how you look at it.
Still, there doesn't seem to be much amiss on the main floor of the space station... Except for a kind of cloying smell that very faintly lingers in the air around the teleporter.
(There is no body in the cafeteria, but it is a surprise place that will help us out later.)

That is curious, though. Karamatsu visits this room often enough.. well as often as he can during one week to notice something like that out of place, so it sticks out like a sore thumb.
He kneels down to pick the spool up, and looks around to see if he can find anything else amiss. Any signs of a struggle or anything like that in here?]

Actually, he barely misses it if it weren't for a shine hitting the metal and catching his eye. Carefully, he picks it up by the eye of the needle so he doesn't prick himself with it and looks it over. Is it damaged at all?]

He's not sure if this really is evidence or not, but he'll pocket these two things just in case.
Is there anything else he can notice off the bat?]

this is about to make him ready to lose the rest of any sanity he has, so he holds it up to Karamatsu, kinda freaked out; shared horror is a little less bad than lone horror]

And he pales.]
Th-this is...
[If this were any other dimension where people didn't die on a weekly basis, this wouldn't be nearly as terrifying to see.]

If this is really her...

[Karamatsu looks up at Thomas from the list, his hands shaking.]
Someone else must have written this... there is no way she would want to die such a.. a-a gruesome death.

That's how she writes... [he very much remembers how distinctively bad her handwriting is.]

...well, more so he just doesn't want to believe that she wanted to die this way. Or at all, really. She was always so happy that people accepted her even though she was already dead, so he just can't see it.]
....we will just have to wait and see at the trial.
