Week 3

[Two weeks in, and all at once four people are dead. Chitose, Miki, Lucina, and Tsurugi - whatever the circumstances, however any of you may feel, their rooms are just as empty at the end of the week. If you check your P.I.P.s, you'll find that their pictures on the profile page have gone monochrome.

C.E.C.E.'s morning announcement comes like clockwork on Sunday. This time, though, there's an addendum to her usual message:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

[she's always got time for Luna. She smiles a bit, though it's obvious she's Not Well, and that's why she's been so scarce this week]

Of course.

[Luna frowns, tempted to reach out to Korra. She decides to do so, gently touching the others wrist.]

Are you well? Is there anything I can help with?

[she pauses and there's an urge to lie and say she is, but... after Luna opened up to her, it's the least she could do.]

I... don't know. The memory this Sunday was...

[wow it's so hard to talk about this.]

... I found that speaking about difficult things can help immensely... It might be easier in one of our rooms?

... Yeah. Let's... go to my room.

[She nods, waiting for Korra to lead the way.]

[newcycle]

[They aren't too far! But when they get there, it's obvious Korra's done what she can to make the place look lived in.

All of her items from the dumbwaiter are interspersed messily across the room, and her bed... is not made.

Never let it be said that Korra is neat.]

Okay...

[she sits on her bed, cross legged.]

[Since there's no chairs or anything, hope you don't mind her sitting on your trunk. Luna is never going to be too forward and assume she can sit on anyone's bed.

And it's alright, Korra. Messy is fine. No one is perfect.]

Was it a memory?

[she nods. And... she seems to be holding her breath. How could the even begin to explain this...?]

I... Almost died. [a pause.]

The people I was fighting before I came here... I thought we were getting the better of them by playing their trap, but somehow they caught me.

[Almost died... Luna knows that feeling very well, seeing as she's pulled that stunt a few times. And been the victim of a trap herself.

She bites her lip and reaches over, placing a hand on Korra's knee.]

How did you escape?

[newcycle]

... I didn't.

[she's shaking a little bit.]

They forced some sort of poison in side of me, something metal, something heavy. They forced me to go into the Avatar state, they wanted to destroy the Avatar forever.

And even though I fought-- he... Zaheer... he pulled the breath from my lungs.

I thought i was going to die.

[That sounds terrifying... Luna takes a deep breath just imagining not being able to breathe anymore. She gets up and sits beside Korra, doing something she would not usually do: pulling the young woman into her arms.]

I cannot even fathom what that would feel like... but I am glad he did not succeed.

[Luna's been the only one Korra's told everything to, and when she does that, Korra leans into it.]

... I felt so helpless.

[and there they are, there are the tears]

Korra... [Being helpless... it really is an awful feeling. When the tears start, Luna just holds the Avatar closer.]

It is alright to feel that way. It does not mean you are weak. Even the strongest feel this way at times...

[she is so grateful for Luna right now. She nods her head slowly.]

I... I know.

[she sniffs. She knew, but also, it was so painful, and so heavy.]

I'm sorry for just-- unloading all of this onto you, Luna. But... thank you.
