Week 3

[Two weeks in, and all at once four people are dead. Chitose, Miki, Lucina, and Tsurugi - whatever the circumstances, however any of you may feel, their rooms are just as empty at the end of the week. If you check your P.I.P.s, you'll find that their pictures on the profile page have gone monochrome.

C.E.C.E.'s morning announcement comes like clockwork on Sunday. This time, though, there's an addendum to her usual message:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

[All the way at the far end of the hallway, when the door to Room 23 opens this morning...there is music.

The music is faint, at first, but it seems to be...following someone. And as they come down the hallway, it gets louder...and louder...and louder.

Where is the music coming from? Who knows. It's just there, somehow.

But he's coming down the hallway, wearing a mask as if the music weren't bad enough.

He's coming.]

[At the first strains of music, before Karamatsu even comes around the corner, a chill runs up Prompto's spine.]

Wh-where is that music coming--bwaaAAah?!

[NO THIS IS 2 SPOOPY HE'S RUNNIN]

[...oh nO PROMPTO]

W-wait-! It is just me, Karamatsu! Don't leave!

[Karamatsu's voice comes from behind the mask, muffled. The music doesn't stop.]

[Prompto stops, hesitates, and then looks back over his shoulder, still primed to bolt.]

K-Kara? Why...

[Why this. Why that. Why the mask. Why.]

I...It was in my dumbwaiter, this morning. It came with instructions that I had to wear it for the next two days.

[And you hear that music? It doesn't stop. It never fucking stops.]

Oh.

[That's. Terrible? That's terrible. Prompto's wincing sympathetically as Karamatsu's situation sinks in.]

Well... it'll be easier to tell you and your brother apart for the next couple days?

[Every cloud has a... silver lining? Get it? 'Cause Argentum means silver? I'm funny, I promise.]

Someone who organized this much find themselves to be very funny.

Well, they're probably the only ones. I'm getting a more 'terrified' vibe than a 'ROFL' one.

[Poor Kara. He doesn't deserve this. He's never done anything to anyone.]
