Week 3

[Two weeks in, and all at once four people are dead. Chitose, Miki, Lucina, and Tsurugi - whatever the circumstances, however any of you may feel, their rooms are just as empty at the end of the week. If you check your P.I.P.s, you'll find that their pictures on the profile page have gone monochrome.

C.E.C.E.'s morning announcement comes like clockwork on Sunday. This time, though, there's an addendum to her usual message:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your first trial, you have unlocked the second floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

[Where in the fuck is everybody today?

Max can't really blame them. He had a bad memory, too, he just...figured he needed to be up and about anyway. There could've been people who needed stuff. Now...well, he was right, wasn't he? Someone's got to be functional, even if...

He'll just go around and knock on doors.

Knock knock.]

[It takes a minute for the door to open after the knock. Max would be forgiven for turning to walk away, it takes so long. But when the door does open Bolton's there. Looking like a tablecloth that's been wrung out and hung back up to dry. He's not been crying, but he looks...drained. Haunted. Devastated.]

......man, you look like hell. [Okay that just kinda slipped out there.] You need anything?

[dejabrew]

No- [He sounds a little hoarse, but he clears his throat.] ...I'm fine.

[theundertaken]

.......yeeeeeeeeah, okay. You want some coffee? I mean, I'm not a coffee wizard or anything, but I can make coffee.

[dejabrew]

[He shakes his head slightly.]

Thanks, but... No thanks.

[theundertaken]

...okay.

[Mmmm. Part of him isn't even sure if he should push this - it's not like Bolton's some teenager he really needs to look after. The guy can handle himself, probably.]

Seriously, are you okay?

[dejabrew]

I'm...

I'm not going crazy, right? I'm not the only one who's been dreaming about things like... like I'm just remembering them.

[theundertaken]

...oh. No, no, dude. That's been happening to me too.

[His words are casual, but his voice is pitched a little too high and his gaze darts off to the side.]

And, uh. I know other people are getting it.

[dejabrew]

[His own voice is a little tight, and eye contact is hard.]

Cool. Cool cool, I just... wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy...

Uh. Nope. You're, uh, you're good.

[..........]

Or not. Things are not...always good.

[dejabrew]

...Yeah.

[He sighs.]

I guess I'm just... not really surprised.
